Nausea update...

Finally I have an answer to my month long queasiness battle... although it is NOT the answer I wanted. It seems that I am pregnant, and must have been at the time of surgery, which scares me beyond belief! I am 7 weeks out and 10 weeks pregnant! I was at my OB/GYN yesterday for a blood and urine test (just to be absolutely sure!) I will have to speak with my surgeon today to find out what her thoughts on this are. If anyone knows where I can find info on this situation, please let me know... The pregnancy board here is full of people who are much, much further out! The good news is- no more nausea! Hope you all have a great day! Ann

Hello Ann There was a profile on here that I read one time about a lady that the same thing happened too. I remember that she had a healthly baby girl and everything was fine. I will try to find that profile and let you know so maybe you can email her. Did they do a blood pregnancy test the day of surgery? They gave me one even though I have my tubes tied. Just listen to your drs and everything will be fine. Good Luck to you and try not to worry. I know that is easier said than done. Remember we are alway here for you!!! Before long you will be holding your beauitful baby. Keep your chin up. Keep us updated!!! Have a great day Hugs Mary

I assumed they did do a blood test the day of sugery... they took a lot of blood and I had heard that they do test for that- but I never asked specifically. It wasn't a concern. I have a 7 and 10 year old... I thought I was done! I would love it if you could find that profile, it would make me feel so much better to talk with someone who has gone through this. Thanks for your support and I will keep you updated! Ann

Well congratulations on your pregnancy and on the end of the nausea. I am concerned that your pregnancy didn't show up on your preop labs. I'm 50 years old and they took TWO serum (blood) pregnancy tests on me just to make sure. I believe it would be in yours and your baby's best interests to keep the lines of communication open between your surgeon and your OB doc. Thankfully, you both came through surgery well... Cheryl

Ann, When I talked to my surgeon about getting my period every 2 weeks since surgery, he told me that it's because we become super-fertile. He told me that they have had several women who didn't heed their birth control advice after and got pregnant within weeks of sugery. That's not quite the same as your situation, but close. He told me that they all had healthy babies with no complications whatsoever. Hope that makes you feel a little better. Take care and Congratulations! Sheryl 292/250/1??
