According to fitday...985 calories (if I got my math right and a 2x3 inch piece of choc cake is 6 cubic inches--it was a 1 layer cake no filling).
It's "special occasion" season in our household. First my son just turned 4 last week, today my MIL had a birthday. My DH's birthday is Friday and mine is Monday. My sister's is the 23rd. My nieces is the 30th. Add in my parents anniversary on the 29th and Christmas AND Hannukah (we celebrate both), there is going to be a lot of temptation coming my way this month. I gave in tonight and had a very small piece of 1 layer birthday cake (with frosting). I know it sounds weird, but I was hoping I would dump, so I would know how miserable it would be. NOTHING. No rapid heartbeats, no foamies, no nausea. Not a Godforsaken thing! What the heck is wrong with me???? Why can I eat everything? Why can I eat so much? I would love to eat 2 bites of something and be full. It would make this soooo much easier. I don't want to be able to eat cake!!!!!!
This totally blows. If it made me sick, I wouldn't want to eat it ever again, and as far as cake goes, that's a good thing. And before everyone starts yelling at me because you're puking all the time, remember that the grass is always greener on the other side.

the girl with the iron pouch
292/250/1??
You know, Sheryl, I think I'm in the same boat as you. I haven't eaten a piece of cake, but I did take a bite of a cookie, and no problem. I ate 2 M&Ms and no problem. I haven't vomited once, and haven't had any real nausea since the 1st week. The only food I've eaten that I really didn't tolerate well was scrambled egg.
Not that I'm going out of my way to eat "risky" foods, but I do seem to have the iron pouch, right along with you. I haven't had a hint of dumping. The two items above are the only sugar I've had in any meaningful quantity.
I don't really get hungry, but I have started noticing that I am getting the munchies sometimes so I need to be very careful about that.

p.s. My food diary for today:
Breakfast: 1/2 cup Malt-o-meal made with milk, plus 4 oz milk to drink
Lunch: 1 can Campbells Italian Wedding soup (yummy!)
Snacks: herbal tea; handful of crackers
I think I should drink a protein shake before long, I'm low on protein today.
