Any feelings on Curves?
I was once a member of curves - I also was afraid of being the most giant person there too, and let me tell you, no one even cared, I am sure they noticed, but honestly they could of gave a $h*t less that I was giant. I had some issues using some of the equipment, which is why I quit going, but as soon as I am able to use the equipment I am joining again - I really enjoyed it there.
take care
Jeremy
PS
Here is a post from today on another board that I read that is also about curves if you want to read what they said there...

I tried curves for a while. I find the machines easier on my joints becuase they are hydrolic, however, I also found it BORING. I felt like a rat in a maze going round and round but I'm sure it works if you stick to it. I was the biggest person in there and though I was self conscious no one ever spoke to me so I don't know if people are generally standoffish or what.
Hey Sara,
I love Curves the women who go are of all shapes and sizes and everyone is so sweet. I have been going for all most a year and I can tell the days I work out I feel so much better. At my curves we all incourage each other just a great atmosphere. You can go try it for free if you don't like it don't join if you do well there you go.

DO you have a chain near you called Planet Fitness? www.planetfitness.com
I used to belong to a gym where I paid $70 a month and I just switched to Planet Fitness which is only $19.95 a month and I LOVE IT!!! Their motto is that they are a "Judgement Free Zone"! They have everything I needed, are brand new by me and the price is RIGHT! There's a lot of variety there too! They have all the cardio machines, weights and everything else you could want! (No pool though, but I'm not a pool person.)
Hi: My wife goes to Curves and she loves it...has belonged for about three years...and it keeps her on track...as they weigh and measure you monthly...and the women don't give a hoot how big or small you are, as you are all working on getting your health back...and no men to bother you...she likes that the best.... I think it's a great place. I rejoined a month ago after being absent for a few years. I don't feel judged at all when I'm there. I've told the staff members about my wls and I found out that there's another member at my location that had wls in April. She's lost over 100 pounds already. I feel really comfortable there and people have been very supportive. That being said, I need to get off my lazy butt and get in there lol. I've been sick for a week and it's sucked the life right out of me. I'll be back there tomorrow for sure.

Hi Sara,
I love Curves. I have been going for about 6 years now. I had surgery on Oct. 13, 2005. So I am about 7-8 weeks out and I have lost 60 pounds. The lady at Curves hired me to be one of her trainers even though I am still quite overweight (234) which shows that there is certainly a nonjudgemental attiute there. The machines are great and you get both cardio and aerobic in a 30 minute workout. I feel it is the best!! God Bless!

I joined Curves got in a 1 year contract. I only went 5 times and had to pay to get out of the contract. I didn't like it because the Curves I went to was in a rich neighbor hood and all the woman had perfect bodies and could do all the exercises without a sweat. I am a very friendly person but they weren't too open. I akso found it embarrassing that I left the machines full of sweat. I wiped it off, but I was embarssed that the next person saw I was sweating so much, when they didn't even sweat. The trainers were terrible, they were lazy and grouchy. I even sent a letter to the company complaining. But you CANNOT judge all curves form my experience. I'm pretty sure not all of them are like mine. I did join a gym and LOVE LOVE it. It's a Womens Gym which is perfect.!
