So what's making YOU puke?

Hi Marie Actually red meat doesn't make me sick. I eat chili a lot and it goes down really easy, thank goodness! I think the meatloaf was just a fluke. I was probably eating too fast! I've been able to tolerate almost anything except when I eat a little too quick! I just need to learn to slow down ALL the time! Sometimes I forget... bad bad girl! Good to hear from you too! Now that I'm back to work, I don't have as much time to get on the boards as I used to. HUGS, Vi

The first time was a couple of weeks out. It was from a piece of honey baked turkey that made me sooooo nauseous. I'll never eat that again. Since then I've many times, always because I didn't chew like I should have. You would think I'd learn from my mistake the first or second time lol. I have also found that bread in any form will not stay down and causes me tremendous pain. I guess I'm going to have to get used to eating my burgers with no bun. I haven't tried a burger yet, but I am really craving one (lean meat and ff cheese of course). Unfortunately, the bun is a big part of the appeal for me. Oh well, if that's what it takes to lose all of this weight, I think it's an okay sacrifice to make Carol

Hi Carol I haven't had any luck with bread either and I agree with you on the sacrifice! It's worth it! Funny how I didn't learn my lesson those first two times that I ate too fast and had to go on and do it a 3rd and 4th time too. You ever try any of the boca burgers or garden burgers? I'm thinking to have one for lunch tomorrow. I have tried them in the past and I like some of them, so we'll see what happens! Having it bunless will be rough, but at least pickle slices go down easy for me! Vi P.S. You're not too far from me!

I guess I've been pretty lucky. Only got 'really' sick one time, although today I ALMOST did for the second time. I was driving after eating, and had to pull over to spit into a bag. Thankfully, the feeling did pass eventually, and I was better. I have had the chest pains several times though -- once after eating a very small piece of fish, and a green bean. Must have been the bean. Then, another time on a piece of hard-boiled egg. Then, today I had eaten probably a teaspoon total of tiny pieces of chicken. I thought each time I chewed really well, but, something was wrong. I hate that pain in the chest feeling. I am SO hungry for a chopped salad from Outback. That's all I've been thinking about. I love salads. I just am afraid of them right now. It seems I'm eating such boring stuff, and still not enough. But, I'm learning!

OOOOh I love salads too and I have to tell you that I have had a ceasar salad twice already with no problem, but I cut them up so small they end up looking like cole slaw! I hate that feeling in the chest too. The throwing up part is much better than that pain the chest!

Now I know I need to try a salad. I've been dying for one for weeks, but I was afraid of having a problem with it. I guess I'll just have to make sure I'm at home when I try it, and that everything is cut up really small. I'm also going to buy some Boca burgers and I'll definitely be adding extra pickle slices lol. I always liked Boca burgers before wls, so hopefully I'll still like them as much. Carol

I think I'll try the Boca Burger today since I have them in the freezer! Let me know how the salad works for you! I love having them, just have to eat really slow (like everything else).

I had a regular tossed salad from Outback last night, well a 1/4 cup of it! And it was the ONLY thing that tasted good to me. I had an end of the bread and took 3 teeny bites, yuck gave it to my son. Then they ordered cheese fries, so I put 3 on my plate, tried the end of one, YUCK, gave it to my son. DH ordered outback special with a side of crab legs. I tried a little bite of steak, YUCK, it didn't taste as good as it used to. The crab legs were OK, so I ate about 2 oz of them, but I wanted more salad. Jenn 264.8/232.4/1??

I have been really lucky and have only thrown up once. I re-heated leftovers from lunch the day before, it was chicken and rice soup. On friday it went down just fine, no pains no problems, but saturday.... UGH! I think I might not have chewed a piece of the chicken good enough but I jogged off to the bathroom to unload. It felt a lot better. I've often had that pain in the chest feeling, but have never ended up in the bathroom over it, gladly. Though I hear what you are saying about it feel better to unload it then to have that pain. I just don't like throwing up no matter how easy it is now. I eat: Chili (my homemade or Wendy's) Eggs Soups Carb Options yogurt Sugar free pudding Broccoli Yellow Squash Zuchinni Squash Fish (haddock or cod - broiled in tin foil with lemon juice, smart balance butter-1tsp. and sprinkled with bread crumbs) SHRIMP - I love shrimp ****tail and Bookbinders ****tail sauce fits the bill for nutrition. Natural Peanut butter on Keebler Toasted crackers - Wheat or Sesame I tried some chinese food - chicken and broccoli but I almost unloaded that and decided it wasn't a good idea to try it again. I've heard people talk about having egg foo young, so if I get adventurous again, that might be what I try. I just bought some turkey, will try havng a slice of that today so that I'm not heaving at work! I find that I have to concentrate on what I am eating, to make sure that I am focussing on chewing enough until it's almost disappeared in my mouth. If I'm doing anything and trying to eat, I also eat too fast. I'm like a baby too, I eat ON SCHEDULE! Boy I just get grumpy when I'm thrown off. My nutritionist explained that you have to stop drinking 30 minutes before you eat and wait 30 minutes after to start drinking again. It lets your pouch have time to empty. So I have everything timed so that I'm eating something about every 3 hours. Shake in the morning at 6 when I first get up. Snack at 9, lunch at noon, snack at 3 and dinner at 6. I MAY snack at 9pm again but I would rather skip it, especially if I've met my protein requirements for the day. Weekends are another story. I'm SO screwed up on weekends it's a battle getting everything in correctly. So I generally find myself having that last snack before bedtime.
