Hello all... I have been lurkng here since my surgery and thought perhaps it was time to introduce myself. My name is Ann and I had surgery on the 24th- all went extremely well... then, the first week of Nov I got pneumonia and was in and out of the hospitalfor about 10 days. I am almost back to my old self again, but I have this constant nausea that I just can't shake! I am taking anti-nausea meds 3x a day, but it barely seems to help. I am living on saltines and flat gingerale! I worry that I am not getting enough water and protein in- not to mention the vitamins! I have spoke to my regular doctor and my surgeon and both say it 'should' pass. But I am getting discouraged... Have any of you had long term nausea? How do you deal? Thanks for all your support... you have all been so supportive to me whether you have known it or not! Ann

Hi Ann! Welcome!!!!! I'm so glad you posted.. You should update your profile so it says you had surgery on the 24th. It still says surgery date scheduled. I am starting to feel really nauseated since yesterday. I didn't even go to work because I feel terrible. I'm going to see my doctor about it. How much have you lost??? Celia

Thanks for the welcome... So far I am down 40 pounds, which makes me happy, but I think 20 of it is due to dehydration! I started at 298- so I have quite a ways to go! I have been stuck for a week now, but I know it is due to not eating/drinking well. I have started using fitday.com so I can keep better track of my intakes. Ann

Hey Ann Welcome!!!!!!!! I am happy to meet you!!!!!!! I am sorry that you are feeling bad. I have only had nausea for 2 days last week. But I think that was something my kids gave me because they were sick too. I dont think it had anything to do with the surgery. How long have you felt this way??? I wish there was something that I could do to help you. Just be strong and like the drs said it will pass. Take care of yourself. Remember we are always here for you!! Hugs Mary

I have been battling nausea for about 3 weeks as well. It is getting better, but it's enough to drive you crazy and question why you did it. Like I've been told and read, hang in there it does get better!
