Hi There, First off I would like to say that you are all doing outstanding!! I have been reading the messages for about a week now. Nice to see that others go through the same things you do. I had my surgery (lap) on 10/25 in Germany. Before surgery my highest weight was 286, I started seeing the nutrionist and dropped 10 lbs. With that 10 lbs gone I have lost a total of 35 lbs so far. (I add what I lost before cause lord knows that wasn't easy to loose either ) I am eating "normal" foods for the most part, but still haven't tried lettuce yet which I am craving badly. Anyway I just basically wanted to say hi and get into this active little group. The support here is great!! Ya'll keep up the good work!! *High Fives To Everyone!!* Sheri P.

Hi Sheri nice to hear from you. You sound like your from Kentucky with the Y'all phrase. Whats it like to get approval in Germany. I was just curious. I am 6 weeks out. I am on regular diet, ha ha. I can't eat any meat yet. Meat just doesn't like my new pouch but thats ok I haven't really missed it yet. Soup is still my best friend. I hope everything continues to go well for you. Thanks for joining in. Jane

Welcome to the board Sheri! I'm Sheryl G, not to be confused with the other 3 Sheryls posting too. If you've been lurking for a week than you know I'm the exercise freak who seems to have no food issues. No grouchy pouchy for me. Some of my best friends are moving to Germany next year with their 2 kids. He's a mechanical engineer. She was a aerospace engineer, but now she's a stay at home mommy. They can't wait to move. They've known about it for a year, so they've been learning german to prepare. Hope to talk more with you soon! Sheryl 292/254/1??

Thanks for the welcome Yes I am still in Germany, my husband is in the army. I had to go through the military insurance to get it done off post, it wasn't hard because of my "morbidities". I had approval in about a week. I was planning to have it done by the army but the Dr. got deployed so that kind of put a kink in the plan that is when I decided to go to a german Dr. He is a great Dr. and they all treated me very well. I have been going to a support group since the first of the year waiting and tomorrow (Thursday) will be my first meeting since my surgery. They don't know that I had the surgery so this should be interesting..hehe Anyway thanks again for the warm welcome!! *High Fives* Sheri P.
