I am right there with ya. I crave salad so much. I may have been 4 weeks out. I went and got myself a salad a couple weeks ago. I was able to eat everything but the lettuce. Not sure if it was too soon or didn't chew enough or what. everything else sat pretty good though. May try the salad thing again thought since I am 7 weeks out now. Good Luck! Kelli

I had surgery the same day as you. I had salad for the first time last week, just a super small amount, and it went absolutely fine!

I've been eating small amounts of sald since last week. I just chew it really well and don't eat very much at a time. I have not had any problems with it. I think I jumped the gun a couple of weeks

I never thought I would be dying for a salad. I totally understand. I saw my Nutritionist Wednesday and I have two more weeks before I can have lettuce....just lettuce...no tomato, no raw veggies. I can't wait until I can have a fork full of salad. ~~Diamond~~

I tried a little bit of a salad one day, I too was craving the crunch of a good salad, so I stopped in at Quiznos {just luv their Honey Mustard salads}; I went there orginally to try some soup, I ate a few bites of that and was completely stuffed.....So I thought while I was there that I would buy my kids some dinner, so I brought two salads, well one of my daughters wasnt home when I arrived, so I tasted a little bit of her salad, all I had was two pieces of the chicken {not at the same time}; one piece of the baby spinach {too afraid to touch the lettuce}; and one tiny piece of the bacon, and one very small cherry tomato.... I cannot begin to tell you how full I was, I havent tried salad since.....but I'm anxious to try again.....of course I'll have to share it with someone......

Oh Joy!! I am 6 weeks out and salad has saved my life!! I can eat a lot - kinda scared me at first but I have been eating salads for the last week - I eat iceburg, romaine or baby spinach with cheese, ham or turkey, crouton, bacon bits and dressing. I don't all those things together because I find my pouch doesn't like to much going on at once but I pick and choose. I still cannot eat chicken or well and boiled eggs make me sick now but try whatever you like on. My rule is just keep it simple and watch the sugar content in your dressing. Enjoy!! Shannon

I tried salad Friday night. I ate about 1/4 cup of it but it was mostly the other stuff besides the lettuce. It was a Cobb Salad, with romaine lettuce, blue cheese, turkey, hard boiled egg and bacon. I ate two bites of lettuce with no problem. The salad sat well and tasted OH SO GOOD! I can't even believe my mouth was watering for salad, but there ya go. Cheryl

I know you said not to answer because I can eat anything, but I couldn't resist! Yes, I can eat salad, and it was the thing I was craving most after the first month. I still haven't made it to Olive Garden yet, but I think about their salad every day. But to be honest...being able to eat anything, and in large portions too, is a curse. I don't get full like everyone else seems too, and I have to measure everything just to make sure I don't overeat. The only thing that bothers me is if I don't chew enough I get horrible chest pains for a few minutes. Those chest pains are the only reason I know I actually have a pouch. Besides....I can't eat everything. That crabmeat rangoon gave me the runs that one day. But all in all, if I can lose as much weight as everyone else, and still be able to eat somewhat normally, I am pretty lucky. I hope when you finally get to eat salad it sits well in your pouch. GL!
