Hi...we are all becoming obsessed with the SCALES, LETS ALL THROW THEM OUT THE WINDOW..but I can't do this my inner child says...it will happen...the weight comes off...if we want to tortue ourselves, so be it....the body needs time to adjust and play catch up...take your measurements each month, the tape does not lie...good luck and god bless...Dennis

The last few days before I had surgery I debated about going out and getting a scale. I decided not too because I had seen on the boards how people were obsessive about weighing themselves and got so frustrated. I have been seeing my surgeon every 1-2 weeks, and that is the only time I have been weighed. Now, the next time I see him isn't until the week before Christmas, which is quite a bit longer to find out how much I lost, but I think I will stick to it... When I saw him last Tuesday I was down 25 pounds in 33 days

Oops, I meant 35 pounds in 33 days. Eventually when I am seeing the surgeon less, I will want a scale. But for now, having one here would drive me crazy

I have weighed myself everyday for the last 6 years, dieting or not. I, honestly am not that frustrated with the bouncing around I am doing now. The scale helps me to judge what I may be doing right. Like yesterday, I made a concious effort to UP my calories and protein and I added a little bit of carb in at dinner. Guess what, I lost a little this morning. I will try this same formula today and see what happens. I also increased my water intake yesterday. However, i DO not jump on it several times a day. I used to. I used to strip down naked whenever the mood struck and weigh myself. Call it exercise, call it craziness! Once a day is a BIG improvement! Hang in there! The scale has to give up sooner or later! Beating it with a hammer DOES NOT help! Jenn

I can't throw out my scale! I just got it! Like several others on the board I'm a scale ***** I can't get through the day without weighing myself at least once. When my brother offered to give me his brand new 100 dollar scale that he got for a wedding present last week, I about died and went to heaven. Not only does it weigh me. It tells me % body fat, % water, bone density, how many calories I could eat to maintain my weight, my metabolic age, and some other stuff too. It's a scale *****'s dream. Besides...I was too stupid to take measurements preop, so I have nothing to compare with. Sheryl scale ***** 292/255/1??

Hi Sheryl: It is not to late to take your measurements, start from now...and see them go down...I am starting to relax a bit...and will try and stay away from the beastly scale....grrrrrrrr it calls and calls...but I know I am losing inches....as my pants are falling off me...yea...so we can do this...we up the protein, up the water. Further more, it took us all this time to get this big...it does not come off in a month...so stick to it...I ate a yummy tuna salad with some imitation crab mixed into it...instead of mayo...I put light italian dressing over it...just a dab...it was good...and had it with cottage cheese, so it was a wow protein lunch...could not fini****so had the last few bites a few hours later...until later...god bless...Dennis
