i did it by staying home. being one day shy of a month out, i realized in the middle of the night that i had the dreaded FOF, Fear of Food. And i was worried about being able to get up off the low toilet seats at my aunt's home (i have a toilet seat extender since i broke my shoulder 2 1/2 weeks ago). So i slept off and on most of the day - close to 8 hours so i must have needed it, drank Revival Soy protein shakes made with Lactaid, and glasses of water when i was awake, and had 1/4 baked potato around 8 PM. The REAL baked potato, from the still oven, not the nuker. i have to say i feel much better at 10 PM than i did at 10 AM. cheers jan

I'm glad you're feeling better too! I went to my Aunt's house and had a tiny bit of turkey and some mashed up yams. It was delicious. I also had a taste of the pumpkin cheesecake that I made, but it tasted bland to me! I did my best to eat slowly while everyone else consumed about 1000 calories! All I could think was: "wow, that used to be me". I have to admit, I felt "left out" but I was also happy that I couldn't eat until I was ready to explode, like I've done every other year! Hugs, Vi

i did well eating yesterday was acually surprised i ate a little more than ive been able to...i had a teaspoon of stuffing (yes i know a no no but i dont make mine doughy )so with a tiny bit of gravy it went in good and stayed there had 2 tab mash pot and about 1 1/2 dark meat turkey (dont care for the white meat) and 1/2 deviled egg which i only ate 1/2 of that ...ate slowly and enjoyed every bite and got it all in but for about 3 bites of potatoes and a couple of turkey...to be honest i think it was the first meal since surgery i really enjoyed eating...after we went to my oldest sons inlaws later in evening so i could see my grandson i tried a sliver of the sf pie but for some reason that didnt stay in came right back imediately.. was weird...but its cool i enjoyed the best part of meal anyways i didnt have any problem with even wanting to eat more around others..when i went to my oldest sons inlaws to see my grandson after dinner they always have at least 20 different deserts set out and none looked remotely appetising i was so surprised..drank my crystal lite and played wit the baby and i was good to go.so i dont fear the food and for that im thankful....not bad for being 7 weeks out .. have good day every one hugs lynda

I ate a little potatoe salad, dressing, and gumbo. For some reason chicken and turkey does not sit well with me. I can chew and chew and it still does no good! Take care! Keke

I had 3 oz. turkey, 1 T each mashed potatoes, noodles, green bean casserole and a 1X1 block of cranberry jelly. Let me tell you those carbs went down TOO good. They were ssssoooo good. My kids and husband had these HUGE heaping plates of food and for a millisecond, I felt left out, but I had a taste of everything except the brownie that they had. I was satisfied, not at all stuffed and did not feel horrid all night long like I did every other year. I feel like I am eating so much more than you all are. Jenn
