HELP!
I need some creative help! I'm on a "regular" diet now, but nothing seems to appeal to me and other stuff that might appeal, I'm still afraid of for fear it might be too hard on my pouch.
Breakfast has been the hardest, I can't find anything to eat other than cheese which I'm tired of...
What can I possibly eat that I might like now? What do you all eat and enjoy? I can't find anything to eat for breakfast and lunch and dinner are such a challenge that the past couple of days I've hardly eaten anything at all.
Here's what I'm sick of eating... tell me what's left?
Chili
Refried Beans
Cottage Cheese
Lowfat Cheese
Fat Free Ham
Peanut Butter
Tuna
Shrimp
Crab
Sugar free pudding
Sugar free applesauce
Mashed potatoes
Crackers
Protein Shakes of any kind, including drinks, vials, puddings, etc!!
Eggs (don't agree with me right now)
Mutigrain Bread (have to toast it and it's way too dry for the pouch to be happy)
And let's not even get started with broth, soup or jello. I don't want to see them for a long long time!
Any ideas would be soooo appreciated!!
HUGS,
Vi
P.S. I'm at work and I'm DYING TO GO HOME!!! I don't feel like working right now! One more hour to go...yaay!
Sounds like your tired of the food selection that seems to agree with you. I guess I have been lucky to have so much agree with. There are some things that I have to eat real slow (eggs & milk) and others I can't eat at all (carne asada, pork). I like protein shakes. I make them sometimes with water (when I workout) or milk (when used as breakfast). I like to blend up frozen strawberries or berry mix in my vanilla protein. Most breakfast's I have 1 scrabbled egg with sauted onion, green pepper, garlic and cheese. I have had toasted bread with mashed bananna/peanut butter as a topping. In my natural peanut butter I add 1 tsp of Bee Pollen Granuales which gives it almost a honey flavor. However, I can't tolerate actual honey. Then there is Nestle Carnation Instant Breakfast with skim milk.
Lunch tends to be things like soup, tuna, crab, yogurt, raw carrots, 1/4 orange.
Dinner is adventurous. I have had soft chicken taco (only half), grilled shrimp, steamed veggies, Lean Cuisine frozen dinners (only 1/3).
I have a hard time with rice so I try to stay clear of that. Everything needs to be chewed and chewed some more. I find I have a hard time with anything if I eat too fast and not chewed enough. Somethings will take up to an hour to eat a small portion. I even use a baby 1st step food grinder for some meat and veggies. We also have a juicer that I use to get in my fruits & veggies. I put garlic & onions into many things to add flavor and health benefits.
Hope that I have been some what helpful. Just keep trying. My big thing is that I eat and get full but just unsatisfied. So I am thinking that it may be a mental issue for me.
Oh my GOD, me encanta la carne asada!! Wow I would love some of that right now... probably wouldn't sit well though huh? I'm having "pasteles" tomorrow though, I can't wait!! Thank GOD they are soft, because it wouldn't be Thanksgiving and Christmas if I couldn't have a bite of my favorite dish! I always had them growing up!
Your breakfast sounds good. I bought some eggbeaters today with veggies in them. Maybe I'll be able to enjoy that. I was told that my aversion is probably to the yolks right now and that I should try just whites, so I'm giving eggbeaters a try!
The soft taco sounds good too. I haven't done too well with any kind of bread/dough, but I could eat the insides.
I agree with you on the mental issue. I sort of miss the "joy" the food used to bring. Hard habits to break! The only good thing is that I realize that without that "joy", I really don't have much interest in eating at all. Only problem is I need to get that protein in!
I need to try the berries in my protein shake. That would be a nice alternative for me. I'm bored with my chocolate and cappuccino shakes.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Have a great Thanksgiving!!
You HAVE to get out of "breakfast mentality. Breakfast is just another meal. It is not a requirement that it include eggs, cereal, oatmeal ect.
For breakfast this morning, I had a fillet of tilapia drizzled with butter, then sprinkled with garlic powder, salt and a generous helping of parmesan cheese. I popped it under the broiler for 8 minutes and I had a good filling meal from frozen to cooked in 13 minutes.

264.8/237.8/1??
I was reading on another board and they were talking about salmon patties/croquettes. I had never thought about them before but I think I'm going to try them. Lately eggs have been giving me a little trouble as well. I'm ready to eat a chef salad. Hopefully my surgeon will say I can go to veggies once I visit him on Monday. If I think of something else I will let you know. Take care!
