Sheryl, I have read a few of your posts of what you eat. I was wondering if you go to any support meetings. I mean this in the kindest of a way. We are all obviously addicted to food and bad choices, but seems that only after a month after surgery you are eating burgers and fries then maybe you need some extra help. Support meetings are great and find people with the same troubles. After all this pain and agony there is no way I will be eating a french fry any time soon. I hope this post came through in a caring way. I would hate to see you sabatoge yourself. We are all in this together.

Deb, Dont worry. I'm not sabotaging myself. The nut knows and the surgeon know all about what I'm eating. Cheeseburgers without buns are fine, and I was told a few fries were okay. I ate most of a small fry from a happy meal. Too many fries, but I don't feel bad about it. I was told by both the nut and surgeon that I should not be afraid to try any foods, and that I don't need to eliminate anything from my diet as long as I don't get sick from it. They told me that this isn't a diet, and it's not realistic to think that everyone who has had this surgery will never eat at a mcdonalds again. Their question to me was, "what would you have eaten before the surgery?" The answer is a supersize double quarterpouder meal with an extra double cheeseburger. They said that a bunless double cheeseburger happy meal was a lot less and I should be happy. It makes sense to me. Some days I'm going to eat more than others. Today, for instance, I couldn't tolerate anything other than 8 oz ground beef, throughout the day. I'm nowhere near my minimum calories. And yes, I do go to a support group. It meets monthly at the bariatric center. There are about 50 people that go, in all stages of their journeys. Also, I would like to point out that since I am working out a minimum of 2.5 hrs a day, I have a higher caloric need than many who aren't doing as much exercising. I am burning about 1000-1100 calories 4 days/week, and will be upping it soon to 5x/week. I've been seeing the dietician extra, because she is concerned I'm not eating enough. So please don't worry about a few extra fries. I'm fine, I promise. Thanks for caring, though. Sheryl 292/257/1??

Ok, thank you for not getting defensive because the post was truely meant in love. Another thought would be...think if you had a 99 percent lean burger with 2% cheese instead of mcdonalds then you would have burnt more and had a healthy meal I just dont want you increasing mcdonalds profits. I honestly am glad that my support team wouldnt allow mcdonalds 5 weeks after surgery because it would be way to easy for me to fall back into my bad habits. I have to use this tool to change my bad habits..although I will slip I am sure, I just cant go back to my old ways. Oh nother question, does the doc think 2 and 1/2 hours of exercise is too much? I have a friend who is training for the decathalon and she doesnt even work out that hard. I hope on the 30th when i go back for my 6 week check up that I am released to do some kind of exercise and I hope that my pain in my belly is gone. best of luck to you.

B- 2 ozs. Chili L- 2 ozs. Chili D - 2 bites Cottage cheese Snack - Protein drink Jello Pills - All of them but I think that's why I couldn't eat anymore for dinner. The pills just seemed to lay there and couldn't get anymore down. Fluids - About 27 ozs. Not a good day for getting everything down. I was just allowed to start eating chili yesterday so I kind of focused on it.....was so good to finally be able to have it. I may have a popsicle before I go to bed. I really helps to quench my thirst. Fran
