Slow losers?
Hey all October dates!
Is anyone else out there losing much slower than you hoped? I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow and have only lost 12 as of this morning. I started at 261, which I know is on the low-ish end, but still I don't get it. I am relatively young (32) and have no major health problems. I have been walking and eating exactly what I should be and drinking water. I know it will happen, and I don't think my stomach is 'broken', but I am surprised at how slow the scale is moving. Am I the only one whose weight loss is this sluggish? I would feel better if anyone else was in my boat at about 3 weeks!

I too seem to be a slow slow loser. I was three weeks on Friday and lost
13.5 lbs. Yes we all wanted it off yesterday so slow is better than none and I try to keep reminding myself that those 13.5 lbs are gone forever not just another diet but a new way of life. But you know even with the 13.5 lbs gone I feel better and that is what is really important. So I am trying to just look long term.

Brenda,
1st of all congrats on losing 12lbs. It's better than gaining 12. Not everyone loses the same, some lose slow and some fast.
I'm 32days post op and down 40+lbs. I had alot more weight to lose than you so that may be the reason for my big loss.
Don't get discouraged, you could have a huge loss next week. If you want to lose more, maybe you could try going back to the pre-op liquid diet for a few days that may help in losing. Just ask your doctor if he/she thinks that's a good idea.
Continued success and keep your chin up.

Hi Brenda!! I am almost 1 month out and have only lost 17lbs..but that's fine with me... I figure if it's slower my body won't go through so much shock...and the skin has more time to get together, so I have less lose skin...I started at 226, I am 35...we just have to be patient...I am eating much much less than before, and much healthier than before, so I know I have to lose sooner or later..
