Marcey-- so sorry you're having this problem. Yep, I had 'em. Right through up to the 4th week postop. Seriously. I was VERY slow progressing from liquids to even soft or semi-solid food. Really. I still have days when I feel icky and nothing is really wrong but nothing goes down well. Fortunately, no vomiting, but I've certainly come close. I'm now 6 weeks postop and just beginning to be able to truly tolerate soft foods, but still must be extremely careful with volume and texture. One thing that helped me through this that might be of use to you--- when I wake up feeling yucky, I drink one cup of hot tea slowly, then stick with mostly liquids for the day. (Including protein shakes of course). Usually, the worst is over in a day or so. My surgeon assures us that it can take up to 8 weeks for this sort of thing to really go away... Hope you feel more perky soon. Hang in there. Cyndi

Hi Marcey, I am almost 4 weeks post op and know the feeling. I did not tolerate anything bu****er yesterday! And then this morning I had a protein shake with my vitamins, felt fine, left for work, and while standing on the train platform I got shaky and dizzy and had the cold sweats for about 20 minutes. It's tough sometimes! Sometimes I even get severe pains in my stomeach and all I can do is vomit to get rid of them. I think that happens when I eat too fast or don't chew enough, even if it is soft food. Good luck to you! Val
