I'll join you...
I'm in the soft phase and I'm already sick of tuna, cottage cheese and refried beans! So basically I've been eating a lot of cheese and shrimp salad which I'm getting tired of too! Finding variety on a limited menu is a challenge! But Dec. 1st I move back to ALL NORMAL FOODS...yaaaay!
I'm sure if I keep looking, I can find more variety in this soft phase... it's just hard when a lot of the stuff I can eat no longer appeals to me.
Hang in there! We're almost in the home stretch where we'll be eating normal foods again!
Hugs,
Vi
VI,
That happened to me a few minutes ago on the GA board. I know what you mean about variety, but once you get to Normal foods, they may not appeal to you. I started regular foods when I was 10 days out like chicken/fish/ beans etc...........and now I try a little more but food is not appealing to me anylonger............I eat because I have to, not because I enjoy it.

I've been bad about eating. I occasionally "forget" to eat. I don't really like to to eat any more and I have a hard time forcing myself. I started eating breakfast when I got on the real vitamins on Monday because they make me sick on an empty stomach.
It's a good thing eating doesn't excite me -- that's what got me in this mess in the first place. I'm sure it'll get better, though.

Hi Vi I know what youre saying. Soft isn't all that much. Meat is terrible. I have shreaded it, drowned it put it to salad and still feels like a rock. I did eat shrimp ****tail today. Not bad and 16gr of protein. I still get so full on about 4-5 bites and I'm still using the baby spoons. I feel like all I do all day is force myself to drink and every 3 hours try to get 10
`15grams of protein in. I see my doctor next tues and he said he will advance me to normal food.YEA YEA I wonder if we will ever go to a normal vitamin. I am so sick of flintstones. I swear they make me gag.

Vi,
Try buying some imitation crabmeat and add fat free mayo. I like it. You could try an egg or egg beaters with a sclice of cheese.
My favorite has been Thin 'n Trim Turkey breast 2 slices are 2 oz depending on how the deli people cut it. Or any low sodium, low fat turkey breast would be good.
Have you tried eating haddock, salmon, sole,etc.. they are soft foods too.
These could be your alternative to tuna fish.
Hope this helps. What's normal food, LOL.
