Back to work...

Tomorrow I am returning to work. My surgery was 10/28. It is alittle scary returning. I am still on full liquids then on this Friday I start two weeks of pureed food. Does anyone have any ideas for pureed food?? It has been nice checking in and reading the post two or three times a day. Now that I am going back to work I'll have to catch up with everyone at night. Thanks for everyone posting it made the last two weeks much nicer to deal with. Dolores

I really skipped the pureed version cause I really didnt like it. I did eggs, cottage cheese, potato soup and chewed and chewed it. No sugar added applesauce. I know your scared but youll do fine.

Creamed soups and sugar free pudding work well too. So do refried beans with melted cheese or chili. Or you could take your shakes with you to work? I have a little blender at work and I keep a can of protein powder, but honestly I'm sick of them! We're allowed crackers and peanut butter and cheese in the pureed phase, so I plan to keep some low sodium wheat thins and a jar of peanut butter in the office. Cheese has been my staple!! I also like lobster bisque (bought it at the health food store) with some shrimp and crab meat chopped up in it. I'm having a VERY hard time finding stuff I like anymore!

WELL, MS DOLORES ... YOU ARE DEFINITELY STRONGER THAN I AM. MY SURGERY DATE WAS THE SAME AS YOURS & IF I HAD TO RETURN TO WORK NOW, I'D PROBABLY GET ABOUT 3-4 SOLID HOURS IN & THEN NEED A NAP. I'M JUST GETTING BACK INTO THE HOUSEWORK SWING OF THINGS. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS RUNNING ERRANDS & GOING OUT BECAUSE THOSE THINGS COME IN SHORT BURSTS OF TIME, BUT A FULL 8 HOUR SHIFT + DRIVING IN & FROM WORK ... NO WAY I COULD DO THAT YET. PRAYERS & GOOD WISHES FOR YOUR SUCCESSFUL RETURN TO WORK! GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK
