3 Weeks Out......Any Regrets?
HI Michelle
Y U M!!!!!!!!!!!! Big fan of pizza here too! Maybe one day we'll be able to have a very little slice of it. I also thought that I would have lost at least 30 pounds by now. But everyone says it will happen. We just have to have patience! ( ok.......i can understand patience....but.......WHY DOES IT HAVE TO TAKE SO LONG?????
take care

Hi Willby,
We are real close to the same starting weight (319), and my surgery was 10/27/05. When I went for my week post-op, I had actually gained almost 10 pounds! Argh!
When I weighed yesterday I was 305, so I know it's comming off, but really slowly. I can hardly wait to get under the big "300", I am so close now, it feels like I'll soon hit that milestone.
Do I regret the surgery? Well, when I feel sick to my stomach (usually from eating too much or the wrong foods) I have wondered to myself "what in the $%^ have I done?", but when I stepped on the scale yesterday and saw the numbers declining a little, I felt much, MUCH better.
And also I think about it this way: When I was on Weigh****chers, I stayed on the program for a good year and only dropped 50 pounds, and I was HUNGRY all the time, and I was constantly thinking about food. THIS feels better; most of the time when I eat the right amount of food, and the right type of food, I feel satisfied and OK.
Besides, it's done...no use in regrets. It'll come off...hang in there!

Nonna, you have a good attitude! I like that!
Willby, we have to look on the bright side girl... these first few weeks are really hard, but someday we'll look back and be glad... read all those other profiles of people who are a year or two out and are so happy and grateful!
THIS TOO SHALL PASS! CHIN UP GIRLIE!
Hugs,
Vi
hey Nonna
Congratulations on your surgery! I feel the same as you do. Physically, my body is satisfied and able to function on the eensie weensie bit of food that we are eating. But my head hunger is like a HUGE ravenous beast that wont shut up.........I honestly never ever ever thought food had such a hold on me.(who was I kidding?) They say every day gets easier...............and thats what I'm counting on.
Good Luck on your journey!!

Hi Willby great question. This week I have no regrets. First week lost 20lbs. Nothing the second and It was 2 day into the 3 and the scale jumped 4lbs in one day. and Its been 2 pounds each day. I know this honeymoon will stahl but it feels geat. I really havent missed the food. I had a small problem at week 2 that made life so miserable. I had a nerve go crazy while it was healing. The pain from this nerve was like electrical shock. My doctor tried to numb the area with Marcain. He used 40cc really covored the entire area. Pain when away but I reacted the the novacane. My stomach turned red and blistered. I have been miserable from this discomfort more than anything. I still have no regreats. Which I would have done it along time agao.
Hey Jane
GOOD FOR YOU !!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations on your weight loss. I know it just takes time, right?
Sorry to hear about your complication. Its amazing how this surgery affects different people in different ways. The surgery wasnt that bad......but the headache I got from the morphine was a killer. hmmmmmmmm.....go figure!!
take care

I have no regrets. I had surgery on 10/27. I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks pre-op, so I went through the mood swings and mourned the loss of food then. I did lose 12 lbs. during that time. I have only lost 9 more since surgery. Hopefully, when I go to the doc on the 21st, I will have lost a lot more since this week was "that time of the month". I started out at 251 lbs., I don't consider that a lightweight, but some might.
Marcia
Hi Marcia,
I go to the docs on the 21st also. I havent weighed at home since our scale doesnt like SMO housewives. But maybe thats a good thing. My clothes are looser and I can walk farther without having to call 911........so maybe I better not start the numbers thing
Good luck and congratulations!!!
