3 Weeks Out......Any Regrets?
Good morning everyone,
My WLS was 10/24. Does anyone feel like this? I cant really see a significant weight loss. I'm following the surgeons instructions to the "T". I know it will come..........but sometimes I feel like I took this major step and "when is it going to happen?" I sort of feel like I'm in Limbo.
Anyone else?
Thanks and take care

Willby,
were you considered a "lightweight"? I had my surgery 10/17 and I've only lost 18 lbs. I've not lost in a week but then again I knew it would be slower because I was considered a lightweight at 229.5 lbs the day of surgery. It does get frustrating at times, but I know it will take time.
Hugs,
Melissa
Hi melissa
Now I know somethings wrong !!! I was SMO with a BMI of 60!!! I'm losing like a lightweight!!!!!!!!!
Starting weight was 327. Last appointment 11/1 I was 289. but 16 of that was from my pre-op diet!
I'm more or less teasing about the weight. I know it will have to come off. Right guys? .................guys?...............

Hey Girl, I go from being happy to wondering when the hell I'm going to quit feeling so damn moody and start enjoying life again! My losses have been painfully slow since that initial big loss, so I do know how you feel, but I also know from reading other profiles, that this is normal in the beginning and eventually it DOES come off, so hang tough! It'll happen!
I want it yesterday too, but I guess I'll have to wait huh?
In the meantime, I'm going back to work Thursday. Hopefully getting back to a somewhat "normal" life will help me stop fixating on the weight issue...
Hugs,
Vi
hi Vi
I'm glad to hear that its not just me. Even as much as I've read about this surgery and the time line to lose weight...........a part of me thought I would weigh about 190 now(3 weeks post-op) Isnt that sad??
Good luck on going back to work! you know what else bothers me? And I know this is just me being Psycho............no one has said to me "OMGODDESS!!!!!!!! YOUVE LOST SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH WEIGHT!!!!"..............
take care

I could have written this one!!! I feel the exact same way! I lost 14 the first week, it was like every time I stepped on the scale 3 pounds was gone! The 2nd week I lost NOTHING, and I slowly picked up to maybe a pound a day now. From what I've been told and what I've heard, that's normal- my doctor said the first week was a lot of water weight and that this is the normal weight loss to expect.
I realized part of my problem was reading so many other people's profiles- they talk about how much they've lost and how many sizes they're down, but I never realized their posts weren't daily. I knew they weren't, but I never really thought about how far apart they were, you know what I mean? I guess I thought they were losing a size a day, I dont know...
So anyway, no advice or anything, just wanted to say me, too!!

I too am a "Light weight". I weighed 220 going in and now (two week out on last Friday.) lose only 17 lbs and 7 of those were from being so sick the night before and morning of the surgery. I just keep telling myself that it will come off and that those 17 lbs are gone FOREVER! This is a slower process if your concerned a light weight. Hang in there!!!

Dear Willby,
I dont really have any regrets... But if you had asked me that the 2nd week after surgery I would have said h**l yea. I think that is when I missed food the most. I lost the most the first 2 weeks. Now it has really slowed down. I had my surgery on 10/20 the same day as Vi. The worst part for me now is the mood swings like Vi was talking about but they seem to be getting better as the days go on. We have to keep our chin up and be happy it will come off. Good luck to you sweetie. Just remember we are all in this together and we will always be here for ya. I keep telling myself just wait and see what you are gonna be like next year at this time. Gives me a goal to work to.
Lots of love to all my Oct buddies
Mary
