Protein Question
I'm just curious about how much protein you all were told to get per day. I was getting 90-100 gms and was told to cut back to 1 protein shake/day. I thought you couldn't get too much protein. I'm worried about starting to lose my hair in huge clumps. I already lose so much just from brushing it. Plus with all the working out I do (well...at least for 4 days/week), don't I need extra protein?

I was told to shoot for 60 grams of protein but that 60-80 grams would be ideal.
One of my friends sent me an article a few weeks ago that said this:
" Storing protein is not possible and your body gets rid of any excess. Too much protein can actually be unhealthy. "
It didn't say how much was too much though, but here is the whole article:

And here's another good article on ABOUT.COM that tells you how to calculate the amount of protein you need if you work out a lot:

My doc wants me to get from 60-80 grams a day. Don't worry so much about the hair loss, if you are going to lose it, it will happen sometime between the 3rd and the 5th month. It is caused by the shock of major surgery. I had it happen to me after my c-section and it sure wasn't because I wasn't eating enough. If you get the amounts your Doc tells you to, that is all you can do.
