Something weird is going on with my monthly and I'm getting pissed off in a big way. I had my period 2 weeks before WLS. Then 2 days post-op I got it again. The doc said it sometimes happens...fine. Well last night I got my period AGAIN!!!! Thats 3 periods in 5 weeks! That's just crazy. And I get killer cramps, and the prescription med I take for them I can't take anymore (Cataflam) because it's a NSAID. So I took some leftover liquid Lortab from after surgery and have been slightly queasy ever since. The good news is that my weight loss stall was probably PMS. They asked me if that was a possibility and I was like "No way" I've got at least another 2 weeks. Yeah right. I did drop weight yesterday. 2 1/2 lbs, which is great. What is not great is the thought that I'm going to get my period every 2 weeks! I've never really been regular and would sometimes go up to 5 months with no period (no I don't have PCOS), just REALLY irregular. I used to be on birth control which regualted my period, but haven't been since my son was born. I asked a few months ago for a RX, but my PCP said no because it can cause weight gain. I should ask again now that I am post-op. Is this my body's way of making up for all the lost periods? Does anyone know if this has happened to anyone else? My husband will kill me if I get PMS 2x/month! Sheryl

EEK! You poor thing. I had a period right before surgery and then again a few days after surgery that lasted 8 days. I am on Yasmine birth control pill so it's shocking to me that I even had a second period. Anyway, I would get back on the pill if I were you. Hugs, Dawn

My period came on two weeks before surgery and surprised me again while I was in the hospital (only two weeks later). I was livid. I'm hoping it doesn't come on again within the next week or so, but it may because I've been aching and that's usually a sign of it coming plus I'm getting headaches. This sucks doesn't it??? Oh well........I guess we have to grin and bare it. Talk to you later.

Sorry!! But girls as we lose the weight after our surgerys we will have increased periods. Because stored in all that fat is a lot of hormones. I work with a women that is 11 months out and has a period about every 2-3 weeks. Amanda 247/210/140
