Was Having A Really Hard Time With Water... Until
Hi Guys, I just thought I would post about something I figured out yesterday. I was drinking my water out of a sports bottle, ice cold... and it just didn't make me feel good, not painful, but just uncomfortable, so I wasn't drinking as much. Well, I figured out it was the sports bottle, and the fact that it was so cold. I think with the sports bottle, I was taking in air too... So I changed to drinking from a cup and to cool water.. not ice cold today and I got all my water in!!!! Just thought I would share...

Thank goodness our surgeon warned us about the air thing....I have a big lot of trouble drinking from a straw AND using sports bottles with the little tips! Carbonated drinks are the death knell for me....way too much air, makes me burp continually and doesn't feel good....I found a different kind of bottle at Walmart that has a larger flip-top lid, and I do much better because it's more like drinking from a glass or cup. I have difficulty taking in very cold liquids, but cool seems to be OK. The best thing that helps me is to take HOT tea first thing in the morning, by itself, then start taking my pills, and my tummy doesn't get upset. I wait about 15 min to start taking in protein drinks or yogurt, etc, and the discomfort is minimal.....
PS congrats on your success so far! Cyndi
I find I had that problem a lot too, yet now I seem to crave ice cold water, since regular water no longer tastes good to me like it used to.
Some days I can tolerate the water cold and other's I just can't. I've been trying so hard to increase my water intake. I'm only getting in about 35 oz a day and I used to drink over 100 oz!! Darn that Oscar the Pouch! He's just not happy with water no matter what I do! It actually bothers my stomach if I drink too much water? But this too shall pass!
Thanks for the tips though, I'll try drinking it out of a cup instead.
I'm not getting all my water in either. I think it's because we can only sip, sip, sip. If I could drink, drink, drink, I would probably surpass the required amount. I usually get about 48 oz in but I'm trying my darndest to increase it. I've been eating sugar free pops to add to my count. I also flavor my water with kool-aide and add splenda. Walgreens has this flavored water that is good that doesn't have any calories and it's good as well. I like the peach. Oops I forgot everyone doesn't have a Walgreens so that might not be a good thing to mention. Anyway......we just have to buck up and talk to our pouches so that they will comply.
Have a good one!!
