I am miffed!!! I know I shouldnt be but I just weighed myself at my Dr.'s office this a.m. and only lost 1 lb. in a week!!!! The first 2 weeks I lost 26 lbs. Now I am afraid I am eating too much or drinking and suckin' on ice too much. My meals basically consist of 1/2 cup cottage cheese (lowfat/non-fat) for breakfast and 1/2 cup split pea soup or a type of pureed soup with about 4 crackers for lunch and maybe 2 more 1/2 cup servings of mashed tatoes or tuna. Why have I stalled???? Anyone else???? I realize that it took me 14 years to gain this weight but its soo frustrating!!

I am right there with you, I have lost 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks. My surgeon says it is nothing to be concerned about, everyone loses differently and there will be a point where it just starts to come off. Our bodies are just adjusting to the changes in our nutrition and so forth. Have no fear

I've read that switching from your regular routine to 6 smaller meals a day can help get your metabolism going again when you are in a plateau. Our bodies tend to get into starvation mode (it's our natural survival technique) when we're feeding it so little so feeding it every couple of hours (6 times a day) kind of "tricks" it into not thinking it's going to starve anymore. I used to try this when I was dieting and it always helped, so it's worth a try? I have a really hard time eating 3 or 4 times a day right now though, so I guess to eat 6 times a day you'd have to eat REALLY small (like only 2 oz?). In any case though, I've read that plateaus are very common at this point and it will pass, so hang in there! Vi

Shanon...be patient..it looks as though you are eating all the right things...I've heard it's called a plateau and you can only be patient..

Sounds like you're doing right.....don't be too sad about getting stalled every now and then....measure or look at your clothes sizes, and you're probably shrinking! If you stay stalled for too long, like 2 weeks, up your protein intake and lower your carb intake like fewer mashed potatoes and less of the cream soups, and NO bread or rice......get your liquid protein in instead. This solves most slow times, but remember, it will take many weeks to get regulated, and the weight WILL come off!!! Cyndi 285/220/140

I had my surgery 1 day before you and I'm stalled too. I can't up my protein, the dietician just lowered it. I'm still getting 70-80 gms/day (was getting over 100). I've been working out a lot, and eating less than 800 cals/day. Your meals look fine to me, but what the hell do I know....I'm in the same boat. Sheryl
