I lost 20lbs the first 2 weeks then I had a problem went back and gained 1 lb and all last week I still didn't loose anything. I am getting all my protein in. My calorie intake is around 500. I can't manage to get 64oz of water in. I do somewhere between 32-48. I am walking. But boy am I getting discouraged. Feels just like before. All this work and I don't loose. And I haven't cheated at all. Today I get to advance to soft foods. Oh well just thought I might get some good ideas for you guys. Thanks

Don't get frustrated, that happens a lot while your body is adjusting to this major change. Hang in there and I know it will start moving again. The change to soft foods might also help get the scale moving again. Another tip I picked up was to try spreading what you eat out over 4 or 5 meals a day to get your body out of that "starvation" mode that it's in right now. Read the main message board and you will see a lot of people go through the same thing and then the weight suddenly starts to drop again! Hugs, Vi

I'm having the same problem! I lost about 14 the first week, nothing the second week, and last week I SLOWLY lost a few more! I know how aggravating it is, but I hear from so many people it's normal... I have no ideas or advice for you, but I wanted you to know you're not alone!!! Rebecca 227/201/130

Jane, just give it some time, I've only lost 18 in 3 weeks, but I know it can come off slowly so I'm not worried about it. I started my soft foods on the 27th of Oct. as my Dr. said it was Ok, but I'm finding it hard to get in protein because I HATE the shakes and there is only so much chicken and fish you can eat and not . Last night I made a stawberry protein shake that was good, I took 1/4 cup (3) frozen strawberries, 4 oz. skim milk, 1 packet of equal, and 1/2 scoop of the designer whey tasteless protein powder and made a Strawberry shake and it tasted just like a stawberry shake. I couldn't taste the protein at all, and that gives me a total of 14g of protein. Best of luck! I finding with me that I don't lose anything for like 4 or 5 days and then BAM, I'm down 4 lbs in one night. It doesn't make any sense at all, but it's averaging out to 1/2 lb to 1 lb/day. In the book "the real skinny on weight loss surgery" they talk about something they term "shrinks" where you don't lose any weight for awhile and then you seem to shrink all over and lose 2 pant sizes in less than a week. It's a pretty interesting book. Maybe you're due for a shrink soon. Sheryl

Jane... I am not losing either. I had my surgery October 19th. Since then I have lost about 30 pounds. I was on cloud nine when I went for my 2 week follow up. Now, a week later, I can't seem to lose anymore. It is so discouraging. I can eat solid food now, but I don't eat alot. Yesterday, I had a protein drink, water, about this _____ size peice of a soft pretzel, tuna with mayo on 2 cracker squares and beef stew for supper (about 1/4 cup including 2 potatoes and 2 carrots). And today, I had a strawberry boost protein drink this morning. One wedge of Laughing Cow cheese, 1 bottle of water, 3 pieces of cheese, turkey out of a lunchable. I am planning on spanish rice and meatballs for supper. I will probably get down 2 meatballs and maybe a little rice (don't know about the rice... haven't tried that yet). But anyway, I am like you. Why isn't the fat melting? Don't feel alone. I am taking my multi vitamin and calcium daily. Water not going too well, but working on it. Protein.... trying. Anyway, just sharing with you. Take care.Terri

NOT TO WORRY ... THIS IS THE GASTRIC BYPASS PATTERN ... A LARGE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT LOSS & THEN YOUR BODY HAS TO CATCH UP WITH THAT BIG DIFFERENCE. DURING THE NO-WEIGHT LOSS TIMES, CHECK YOUR MEASUREMENTS OR CLOTHING SIZE AS THAT IS WHEN YOUR BODY LOSES INCHES ... I READ WHERE SOMEONE ON THE BOARDS SAID IT IS LIKE A "LOSE & SHRINK" PATTERN. SO, KEEP WITH THE PROGRAM; Y'ALL ARE DOING FANTASTIC! &, THE WEIGHT LOSS WILL RETURN!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK
