Vitamins???

I am doing centrum kids chewables right now. I was on Juice Plus but there is no way I can take drinking the capsule in somethingIck. But Walgreens sells some called Optisource, I believe, but they are formulated for gastric bypass patients. They are chewables and are about 25.00 bucks a bottle. I have got to get some calcium still and iron too. I am taking a sublingual b12 from walmart. I am going to ask for a scipt though on my 2 week appt.

Do you like the Centrum Kid's Chewables? I have been to Walgreens and asked the Pharmacist if they have any kind of multi vitamin with chelated minerals, and they told me that there weren't any vitamins with chelated minerals. She said I would have to buy them seperately. Well, since then I have found that they were wrong. I have a multi-vitamin with chelated minerals, but they are very large and I have to take 5 of them a day. I started taking the Flintstones last night, and they are going well. I just know that they are carbonate and not citrate, and that they don't have the chelated minerals in them, so I am not sure how much good they are doing me??? Better something than nothing, right? I am also taking Caltrate Calcium chewables twice a day. They are big, but they don't taste too terribly bad. I have not been to my surgeon's office yet, but I will be going on Fri. I will find out then what I am supposed to be taking for iron and b-12. Until then... Good luck, Nalani! Kristine

THANKS, MS KRISTINE ... I COULDN'T FIND THEM AT WAL*MART SO THIS GIVES ME ANOTHER PLACE TO LOOK ... I HAVE THE POWDER & AM GOING TO TRY IT TODAY IN HOOD CARB COUNTDOWN MILK DRINK ... I have been taking Optisource from Walgreens.com. The Bariatrician at my surgeon's office said it would be sufficient for me to take four of these per day and I would not need the other supplements. I have the others, just in case I need to add some. They are chewables and big but have an orange flavor. I am not much into orange flavor but they are really good and I don't have any problem taking them. Susan

On the label it does say calcium carbonate, which is why I am going to ask my doctor when I go in on Friday about them. Whether I need to add some additional calcium citrate. It has B12, but only 500 mcg per day, which I don't mind taking a sublingual or the shot if they say I should. It is formulated specially for bariatric patients so I don't know why it has 1000 mg of calcium carbonate (for 4 pills) instead of citrate. I am afraid to add additional things to it until I talk to my doctor, not sure what I could have to much of. I feel fine on them. The only time I get tired is when I get out and do something like go to the store. I figure that is from being only 10 days out. Susan

WE HAVE THE SAME SURGERY DATE & I GET TIRED ON LONG SHOPPING EXCURIONS AS WELL. IT'S NOT SURPRISING WITH ALL OUR BODIES HAVE GONE THROUGH.
