Cold anyone?
My doctor mentioned that when you lose weight quickly one of the side affects is that you get cold a lot. But Holy Crap! I'm FREEZING. Not just once in awhile, but ALL THE TIME. It's 70 degrees outside and I'm wearing a sweater and a suede coat and I was still freezing. My cheapo husband (he calls himself thrifty) won't set the heat inside over 62 degrees because of the natural gas price increase. The only time I'm warm is in bed wrapped in a 400 thread count sheet and then covered in a extra thick synthetic down comforter. My hands and feet are like icicles and I think my nippl#s could cut glass.
And I'm not even losing weight NEARLY as fast as everyone else. What happens when it starts to snow? Iowa winters are harsh. Why oh why don't I live in Florida? I used to live in Oklahoma City. The winters there were great. Do you think I can convince my husband to move back?
Freezing In Iowa
Sheryl
Hehe, I'm not sure if you could convince him to move back, but I am going to guess that a few applications of those cold hands and feet to his skin would get him to raise the heat a little.
I'm cold all the time, too. In fact, I'm sitting here wrapped up in my new fleece robe that I got myself for Christmas, lol.
I'm freezing too! Sometimes I've been unable to fall asleep because my feet are so cold. I took a "foot bath", just stood in the tub with ho****er up to my ankles, to warm up my feet. My house is set at 70 degrees, and I'm wearing long pants, shoes, a long sleeved shirt, and a fleece vest, and I'm still icy.
I don't know why we all feel so cold, but as always, I'm glad it's not just me.
Sheryl (we spell it right!)
I sleep with my favorite down comforter and an electric blanket.
Got the electric blanket by Sunbeam at Walmart for 30 bucks!! Get one you, won't regret it. I've been using it since I came home from the hospital. I even took my son's (he's always hot) and put it on the ouch so I can cover myself with it when I watch TV. I've had them since last winter and they are heaven! Right now it's 64 degrees outside and I'm laying in bed with my electric blanket and my laptop!
Yeah. It isnt just me. My hands and feet have been frozen since shortly after my surgery. I am not getting in all my protein and liquid intake yet so I am hoping that once that gets better maybe I won't be soooo cold. My husband cringes when I climb in bed b/c my feet are like icicles.
Cold in Wisconsin too and it hasn't even started to snow
Tina
i am cold also. a friend of mine got a piece of flannel and made a long pouch out of it and filled it with rice. then she got another piece of flannel and made a cover for the first one. you then put the pouch in the microwave for 3 minutes and the rice will hold the heat in for a long time and it will warm your feet etc. it's snowing outside even as we speak....hope the weight loss is coming along well for you. my husband took my scales away from me but i got them back for the first time in a week and i am now down 39 lbs...i am living on peanut butter and crackers.....cheryl
MY INTERNAL THERMOSTAT SEEMS TO BE SKIZOID ... I'M COLD ONE MINUTE, REALLY HOT THE NEXT & THEN THERE ARE TIMES WHEN MY HANDS & FEET ARE FREEZING COLD & THE REST OF ME IS HOT!
I GAVE UP & TOOK OUT THE ELECTRIC BLANKET EVEN THOUGH IT IS MILD HERE IN SC. I TURN IT ON LOW AT NIGHT ... WHEN I'M COLD I'M UNDER IT ... WHEN NOT, I JUST THROW IT OFF.
I NOTICE THOSE IN OUR GROUP WHO ARE LONG-TERM & HAVE LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT, USUALLY HAVE SWEATERS AT OUR SUPPORT GROUP WHERE THE NEWBIE POST-OPS ARE SWEATING.
62??????????? I'D HAVE ICE CICLES HANGING OFF MY NOSE ... EVEN WITH THIS BLANKET OF FAT!
GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK
