Hello every one. Hope all is well! I had my surgery last week and every thing went good. I was home by Sat. the 29th. It took several days for me to get my fluid level up, in the hospital I was only doing 10 oz a day, and when I got home slowly each day it would increase, finnally yesterday I got in 66 oz, but ony 56g of protein. All is well, My home scale reads 229lbs, I was 246lbs at my last pre-op appt. So Im happy with that, my first post-op appt. is monday nov 7th, God I hope they move me to the next stage, I need to chew more than ice and popcicles. Talk to ya all soon--jennifer M

Hey Jen -- welcome home! Glad your recovery seems to be going well. You have done a GREAT job so far! The water issue will get easier as the swelling goes down. It was about 2 weeks for me before I even made much urine! (Temporary relief from stress incontinence was fabulous..) The protein thing will get easier, too. It was about 3 weeks before I could really ramp up to more than 60 on a steady basis. Some days now, I get 90, and feel less stressed on days when I can only get 50 in. I'm 4 weeks + now, and the swelling has subsided and I feel better. Hang in there, it'll get better day by day. Keep up the good work!

Hey Jennifer, Sounds like you're doing great! Women only need 50-60 gms of protein/day under normal cir****tances. I got to the point where I was getting 90 and up and the nutritionist told me to cut back on my protein drinks to 1/day. She said that 60-70 is perfect, and you are just shy of that. The fact that you are already getting all your fluids in is AMAZING. I'm still struggling with that. Keep up the good work! Sheryl
