I was just following up on Celia's post from a couple days ago. If you are 1-2 weeks out from surgery..........how are you feeling TODAY? Sometimes I have waves of "I can do this!" other times its "Someone kill me now". Its easier to go through when you know youre not alone willby thinsoon

Hi Willby I'm 1 week and 1 day out. yesterday one of my incisiions started leaking and still hasn't stopped, so i'm not feeling real chipper right now. my surgeon says it's natural, just keep it clean and covered. i've run through all my gauze and bandages. my Mom will be here in a couple of hours to take me over to walgreens to get more first aid stuff. i'd walk over there on my own, but i know, left to my own devices, i would not buy the left over hallowe'en candy, i'd go straight for a pack of cigarettes! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr other than that, i'm great! lol jan

holy guacamole batman! they have donuts at walgreens? how come in the first aid section, they don't have a product(s) called "Buy this if you recently had surgery and your insicion(s) is leaking"? Don't ya think it would be much easier than having to decide between paper tape, cloth tape, silk tape with latex, silk tape without latex, small guaze squares, medium guaze squares, large gauze squares, gauze on a roll, and the lot? just curious.

Hi Willby I so love your picture with the hershey bar -- chocolate was my biggest weakness and my best friend...mmm...how I miss it! I've been feeling pretty good, thank god, but I feel like I have no energy (or maybe I'm just lacking motivation) to get out and walk or do much more than sit in bed with my laptop or on the couch in front of the TV. I think I'm just being lazy, I hope to snap out of it soon! I keep saying next week I'll go back to the gym though so hopefully I will find the motivation for that! I guess when you're living on less than 500 calories a day your body wants to conserve that energy! So I'm not rushing it! Vi http://sitekreator.com/ShrinkingViolet/

Hi Vi, Youve pretty much just described my OWN day. Sit,rest then sit some more. I agree with your 500 calorie theory. If I dont get some nourishment soon.......i feel like I'm going to disappear. I actually ran the sweeper today and thats something I couldnt even have thought about last week. I cant wait to have my little bowl of porridge.......since I feel like Oliver Twist. "More, Sir.......may I have more?" Take care willby

Hang in there Oliver, the porridge is coming soon! I have to admit I was having cream of wheat (heavily thinned with milk) with protein powder added to it about a week post op. I just couldn't stomach the protein shakes anymore.

Hi Willby! I found your post, and had to smile. I love your picture! As far as how I am feeling... I had Open RNY Micropouch surgery last Thursday, and just got home from the hospital on Sunday. Everyone is telling me how amazed they are at how well I am getting around, but honestly, I don't feel that great. I have my ups and downs just like you. I also had the pleasure of getting a cold as soon as I got home too, so I am sure that isn't helping matters. I have to admit...I cheated a little today and ate some homemade pureed potato soup my MIL made for my last night. I am not supposed to be on full liquids until tomorrow, but I am SOOOOOO...tired of sweet ick! I want to gag if I eat another thing of SF Jello. BTW...I tried the grape Isopure this morning...Oh HELLO!!! I wanted to cry it was so bad. I don't mean to vent, because I suppose it could be worse. I have not taken any pain meds today. My naseau seems to be lessening since I had the soup, and my energy seems to be coming around a little bit. I can TOTALLY relate with Vi, though, all I want to do is sit around. Maybe that's my problem. My hubby is going to take me for a walk around the block when he gets home from taking my MIL to the airport. Maybe that will help blow some stink off. Well, good luck with this weekend! Keep us posted on how you are feeling. All I have to say is...when I got home from the hospital on Sun., all I could say was..."What the Hel**have I done to myself????". Today, it's looking a little brighter. Keep up your good work and beautiful smiles and I will be thinking of you! HUGS! Kristine

Don't feel bad about the purees, I moved myself up a few days early for the same reason, jello made me want to gag and the Isopure drinks were GROSS so I almost prefered NOT eating to have that stuf! Now that I'm eating somewhat "normal" stuff I feel more energetic, but I'm still a bit on the lazy side! Vi
