diarrhea (so sorry)
Had my surgery Friday and Sunday night started with diarrhea it seems to be worse at night like in the middle of the night. Barix told me I could use Immodium in a tiny dosage. Has this happened to anyone else? I keep thinking that maybe its from the cold fluids and have been trying more warm broths. Any suggestions? Other than that feeling great!!!!!
Dolores
I've been having diarrhea too, not too bad until today, when it turned liquid. (sorry to be so graphic) The problem may be an old one rearing its head; I had my gall bladder out a few years ago and have had phases where I have recurring diarrhea. I have some med I can try tomorrow morning and will see if that helps. Not to be too graphic, but if your diarrhea is bright yellow (from liver bile) that may be the problem. The medication I take is cholestyramine.
Good luck.
From my doctor's folder (he gave as a folder full of info with a trobleshooting guide)
DIARRHEA (Normal)
Explanation: Soon after surgery, you will have products of digestion in your body but not the bulk it needs to produce a solid stool.
Solution: Diarrhea may last a couple of days r weeks but will slowly decrease in frequency
Hope this info helps
Hi!
Hmmmm....I have not had any kind of bowel movement other than in the hospital, and that was because they gave me a suppository to help me get rid of some of the gas.
I had Open RNY on 10-27. I just figured that all I had going through me was liquid, so I was getting any kind of substance to make me have a BM. I also had to do a Fleet Phosophosoda on the night before surgery. I think that cleaned me out for months!!!
Should I be concerened that I have not had a BM???
My first dr.'s appt. isn't for another week because he is on vacation.
Thanks!
