I'm amazed at how easy this surgery was (the no pain part of it anyway) and even though Oscar the Pouch and I still need to work a few things out, I am feeling very confident today and thinking about how wonderful I'll be feeling six months from now! Golly, we're a fine team! Oscar the Pouch, Odious Grouch Pouch, the lovely Ms. Sweet Sippy Pouch, and Putt-Putt the Pouch. My 11-year-old son who coined "Putt-Putt" for me has also decided that I have the Pepe LePew Pouch in honor of my occasional lapses in decorum. I can't even believe it, but I'm down 37 pounds since my October 3rd surgery. I'm on purees until November 14 (my birthday) and will be able to have something to chew besides Flintstones on that day. Good choice of names! I'm doing OK with protein (not great) and forcing myself to get in as much as water as I can. I'm pretty good about my forcing myself to take my pills too and it's getting easier. OSCAR has stopped protesting so much, so we're getting along better. As for the weight, I don't have a scale at home so who knows? I just went to amazon.com and got a cool scale that tracks your weight loss too!
