Plateau already?
I'm 9 days post op and I think I may have hit my first plateau! I dropped 19 lbs in the first 7 days and havent lost an ounce since then. I'm not doing anything differently, still doing everything I'm supposed to, but that stupid scale won't budge...
Normal??
Thanks!
Rebecca

HI Marie!!
I had my surgery on Thursday and came home Saturday. I'm feeling OK! Having the same struggles that we all have those first few days, trying to get in enough water and protein, but I had no pain for which I am sooo grateful. Surgery was easy, now the real work begins!
I'm so glad to see a post from you! How are you doing?? CONGRATS on your weight loss so far, that alone must be making you feel wonderful!
HUGS,
Vi
Hi Rebecca! I had my surgery on 10/12/05 and lost 22.7 pounds within 5 days and I don't know if I have lost anymore weight until I go to the General Surgery Clinic on Tuesday, because I have an appt. to have my staples removed and I will find out then, how much I weigh! I wouldn't worry about it too much, you will have to give it some time and you will see that you have lost some more weight! Are you doing everything that you are supposed to do for your diet? Are you walking a lot? I hope that all will fine for you and that you lose some more weight.
Hi, Rebecca. I just looked at your profile, and noticed your teeny tiny starting BMI. You're definitely a lightweight, so you're likely to lose numbers of pounds a little more slowly than others.
But, look at it as percentages of weight to lose, and you'll see it's not bad at all. You started with 97 pounds to lose, now you only have 78 left to goal. Someone that starts with 200 pounds to lose in the first place would be jumping for joy to have lost almost 20 percent in the first week. That would be 40 pounds in one week.
One thing that helped me put myself into perspective is the post op planning tool here. It's under the Information tab. I had 91 pounds to lose, altogether, so I had some of the same feelings you are having, but that helped me see a guage tailored just to me.
