The count down is on eight more days to my surgery Halloween!!!
I do what Peggy does, but I use more visualization. I put on some ocean sounds on my sound soother and I turn off the lights, lie down and pretend I'm on the beach. I try to feel the sun as it comes up on my feet, calves, thighs, stomach, all the way up to my head. When I concentrate I can actually feel the sun.
Or since I'm a self-proclaimed fashionista, I get tons of catalogs and try to put together perfect outfits and imagine myself in them (of course when I do it I am 4 inches taller and 130 lbs lighter) but that's the fun in it.
And if all else fails, head to the shoe store. As far as I'm concerned it's impossible to be stressed out while shoe shopping.

Do anything you can to keep busy and distract yourself! Use visualization, get involved in a good book, look at all the before and after pictures and imagine yourself looking that wonderful and shopping in a regular store! Rent tons of DVDs (I joined the blockbuster on line club just for this) and just keep busy! Do some deep breathing and PRAY! The peace will come to you hon. This is a major step and you are brave and have made this difficult choice -- I had the attitude of FAKE IT till I MAKE IT!! So if I wasn't always feeling UP or confident, I just faked it, till I believed it!!
