Hi everyone.. I had my surgery on Monday and am unfortunately still in the hospital. I have been vomiting since Monday after surgery. It started off bloody and now it's just foamy and NASTY smelling. I have had all kinds of nauseau meds but nothing has helped me much. I can't even keep ice chips down. I have minimal incision pain but nothing I can't handle.. If only this nauseau would pass.. Also, I still haven't been able to pass any gas as my bowels have yet to wake up.. Has anyone else had these problems? I feel miserable.. =(

Im sorry you are feeling so bad, but take your time. Make sure you are feeling good before they send you home. You want to make sure everything is right! Its better that this happened while you were still there so they can take care of you. I will keep you in my prayers that you feel better soon......

I'm so sorry that you are having a hard time. I was very nausaus in the hospital too but it did pass. I will pray that it does for you too. I hope that you are able to walk. I walked as much as I good and started a few hours after my surgery. That really helped. Good luck Crystal please let us know when you are home.

So sorry you are having this nausea. YUK, but also glad that you are still there where they can keep you from getting dehydrated. Hope you are feeling lots better soon. I have my surgery this coming Monday and I know I read that about 20% of patients have quite a lot of nausea---so I guess it just happens. Sure hope you can soon post that you are home and feeling much better.

Hi Crystal I had surgery on 9/1 and I also stayed in the hospital a couple of xtra days because of nausea. But my doctor thinks the anastesia had something to do with it. After it was out of my system I felt better. Good luck Va Girl

i was really sickly in the hospital and had to take 2 different type of meds and still didn't feel sporty. as far as going to the bathroom, i didn't burp (etc) for 2 days and didn't have a bowel movement for 4 days. i talked to the doc about it and they said that was okay because nothing was in my system. i felt miserable too and am still not totally up to par. i think the only thing i was able to drink etc in the hospital was crystal light lemonade. everyone is different. hang in there...cheryl

hope you feel better soon. It probably is the anestesia. I vomited a few times that first night even while I was on the anti-nausea meds and the nurses said you could smell the anestesia in my puke. Sheryl
