I have no appetite. I'm fighting to get the fluids in. It's been pretty rough. But as long as I take super small sips, it goes down a lot easier.

Hi Everyone, I'm now two weeks post op. Boy, feels good to say that. I'm trying very hard to get in my fluids. Protein isn't too bad as I only need to have one scoop of protein powder a day and I've got Chocolate Powder. Not the best, but it will do I guess. Getting in the vitamins and calcium are no problem, but finding the time for 3 doses of iron is a challenge. The first week was clear fluids, and for the next 2 - 3 weeks is full fluids. I happen to like creamed soups, so that isn't a problem for me. I am however looking forward to having an egg. That will certainly help with the protein too. Chapman's Ice Cream (in Canada) has a fudge bar with no sugar and only 90 calories. Very tasty too! Take care, Diana 331/321/? Dr. Joffe - October 4, 2005

I am 2 days post-op today. I feel a little better everyday, my left side is a little achy. I was told that this is the camera port site. I have been sipping lots of stuff soup, gatorade, water one teaspoon at a time. I was a little gassy so I am up and walking. I have been sipping the protica profect protein supplement it seems to go down well. I love the very salty chicken noodle soup JUST THE BROTH NO NOODLES! It really seems to sooth my pouchie. I will see my Dr. next Monday but they require that I check in everyday between 12 noon and 5 pm. I plan on returning to work on Oct 31...we'll see how it goes ZZ

WHAT WONDERFUL NEWS THAT YOU ARE FEELING BETTER & BETTER, MS ZZ. I LIKE THE IDEA OF SIPPING FROM A TEASPOON ... I'M SO USED TO GULPING DOWN FLUIDS NOW, THAT MAY KEEP ME FROM GETTING A POUCHIE ACHE. I WAS THINKIN' CHICKEN MINUS NOODLE SOUP AS WELL. JUST A REMINDER, EVEN LADIES A YEAR OUT SAY TO BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL WITH RICE, BREAD & PASTA ... NOT ONLY ARE THEY CARBS ( ) BUT THEY SWELL IN YOUR POUCH GIVNG YOU AN OUCHIE POUCHIE (OH MY GOSH, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF!!) NOW, YOU BE CAREFUL & EASE BACK INTO GOING TO WORK SO SOON. ALSO, YOU WILL BE FOCUSED ON WORK & FORGET TO SIP, SIP, SIP. WE'VE HAD 2 LADIES IN OUR GROUP PASS OUT ... ONE WAS DEFINITELY FROM DEHYDRATION, SO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! BTW, HAS ANYONE TRIED THE HIGH-PROTEIN PUDDINGS? I'M EATING A STALLONE PUDDING NOW ... VANILLA ... & IT IS GOOOOOOD. THE CHOCOLATE IS YUMMMMMMMMMY AS WELL! = 20gr OF PROTEIN & EASY ON THE POUCH! GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK

I'm 17 days postop today. It doesn't feel like it's been that long, but I really lost a week there while I was in the hospital and the hotel. I had a panniculectomy along with an open Fobi pouch procedure, gallbladder removal and hernia repair, so I have a lot to heal from. I have had every other staple removed from my surgical site, which is a very long scar from hip to hip below my underwear line. My navel is healing well, too. Tomorrow I get the rest of the staples out and I'm hoping that I'll be able to increase my activity a little bit more after that. I am on pureed foods. I've been able to have blended pea soup and blended hearty chicken noodle soup that's been strained, baby fruits (yum) and I've been taking my vitamins. I have been using Nectar proteins mixed with Peach Iced Tea Crystal Lite and I have no problem with that. I try to stay sipping water, but I'm still having trouble with that. The only thing that really hasn't agreed with me are my medicines. I have to take Cymbalta for my fibromyalgia which got way worse after not taking the medicine for over a week. I just have to take it on top of food. I figured out how, finally. Instead of drinking the pellets down in a little water, I'm mixing them up in baby fruit and swallowing it. It works and my pouch doesn't hurt. I have advance sick leave for six weeks. I'll be going back to work on November 14th, my birthday. Cheryl

I'm a week out now, and doing fine, I guess. I dont really feel much different! I've lost 17 lbs, but I dont see it at all. My clothes are a smidge looser and my wedding rings spin, but I dont see it anywhere else. I'm constantly drinking water, which is good. I'm not a huge water fan, but I really like the Dasani with Lemon, it's sweetened with Splenda so I carry it around all the time. I'm trying to get protein, but nothing sounds good that is high! Cottage cheese makes me gag, cheese is only good to a certain point... I tried Zero Carb Isopure yesterday and it was fine mixed with skim milk and 2 frozen strawberries, so I guess I'll be drinking that every day for a while. As for really liking something- not so far. I really think this is the first time in my life I've eaten to live and so far it pretty much sucks! I'm battling head hunger pretty bad, so hopefully once this passes I'll be better. I saw one of my dr's associates on Tuesday to get my drain out, but I wont see them again till Nov 8th. As for work, I'm a stay at home mom, so yes, I've gone back to work! My sweetie has been home with me this week so I havent had to drive or anything, and he's let me sleep in by taking the boys to school in the morning, which has been great! He goes back to work on Monday, though, so back to normal for me. I'm kinda ready, though, for life to get back to normal. Rebecca

I'VE TRIED THE ISOPURES & LOVE THEM ... THEY HAVE A LOT OF FLAVORS, MS REBECCA. HAVE YOU TRIED PROTICA PROFECT? 25gr PROTEIN IN LESS THAN 3 OZ OF FLUIDS ... THEIR WEBSITE IN AT THE BOTTOM OF MY PROFILE PAGE. ALSO, I'VE TRIED THE STALLONE HIGH-PROTEIN PUDDINGS & THE CHOCOLATE, VANILLA & BANANA ARE REALLY FLAVORFUL ... THE LEMOM IS VERY MILD IN FLAVOR. THEY ARE GOOD. YOU CAN GET THEM AT GNC OR ONLINE AT ALMOST ANY OF THE WLS FOOD PRODUCT SITES. CONGRATS ON THE 17 #s. HAS YOUR HUBBY NOTICED ANY DIFFERENCE WITH THE WEIGHT LOSS? GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK
