I had sugery on the 11 and I feel great. Have had no problems so far . It seems to good to ge true. I came out of surgery excited to live. I know there will come a time or moment where I may not be this excited and happy but I am going to ride this happy wave as long as I can. I am out of town now staying with a friend in atlanta and will be back on a regular basis in november. thank you for the support

Yay for you! My surgery was October 3rd, and I have had only a few little bumps in the road - I'm determined to get through these with as little discomfort as possible. Good luck, and enjoy your time being coddled, I know I am .

WELL, HOW IS THE WEIGHT LOSS GOING, MS KAREN? IS YOUR POUCH HANDLING FOOD WELL? HEY, I'M A "HIGH-MAINTENANCE" FEMALE SO I AM RIGHT WITH YOU ON BEING "CODDLED". MY HUBBY IS GOING TO STAY WITH ME IN THE HOSPITAL. HE IS AS EXCITED ABOUT WLS AS I AM! MUSC ALLOWS SOMEONE TO STAY IN THE ROOM WITH YOU SO I'M HAPPY. ENJOY! GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK

Thanks for asking . My pouch wasn't cranky before Sunday, when I pushed it a little too far too fast, but it's doing alright since . As for my weight loss, I am 5'4 1/2" and started at 247. At surgery time, I was 225 (and have just about every co-morbidity known to man going). I came home from the hospital at 245 (from all the IV fluids), but my first weigh in was six days ago, and I was down 9 pounds, to 216. I'm happy with that, as I have 91 pounds to lose (from surgery), and seem to be, using the Post-Op planner, right on target (lol, at 2 weeks out). So, although, in some ways, I'm jealous when I read of people who lost so much so fast, I try to keep my eye mainly on my own journey, and not compare. I'm very happy, of course, for all who are on their own roads, I just mean that I'm comparing myself to my own goals, as it's not a contest with others here. As for having your husband stay, my 'roommate' in the hospital (who was not in for WLS) had her husband there, and I must say, it was really nice for her. I'm not married, so no such treat for me, but I think that having the spouse there is the best idea ever.

GLAD TO HEAR "GROUCH POUCH" IS HAPPY AS A CLAM NOW! LESSON LEARNED! WOAH, I THINK YOU HAVE DONE FANSTASTIC, MS KAREN. LOOK AT WHERE YOU'VE COME FROM ... YOU'RE DOWN 31 #s FROM YOUR HIGH WEIGHT, YOU'VE LOST ALL THE HOSPITAL FLUIDS WHICH CAN TAKE SOME TIME TO DO!!! &, YOU HAVE LESS THAN 100 #s TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I APPLAUDE YOU, GIRL! YOU ARE SO RIGHT ... "COMPARE NOT!" BE HAPPY WITH OUR OWN SUCCESSES AS THEY COME, & THEY CERTAINLY WILL ... & BE HAPPY FOR OTHERS' SUCCESSES AS IF THEY WERE YOUR OWN. THE HEART GROWS SWEETER & BIGGER EACH TIME WE DO EITHER! WELL SWEETIE ... JUST WAIT TILL THOSE 91 #s COME ROLLING OFF & YOUR WHOLE ESSENCE CHANGES ... YOU WILL DRAW PEOPLE TO YOU LIKE BEES TO SWEET HONEY AS THE "REAL" YOU COMES OUT & SHINES. FRIENDS & SUITORS WILL FLOCK TO YOU! THIS WEIGHT KEEPS US "DOWN" IN SO MANY WAYS. WE WONDER WHY PEOPLE TREAT US DIFFERENTLY AT TIMES, THEN WE LOSE WEIGHT & SEE THAT WE AREN'T THE SAME AS WE WERE WHEN WE HAD SUCH PHYSICAL & EMOTIONAL BURDENS TO CARRY. SO, YOUR TIME FOR BEING "SPOILED" IS COMING, GIRL! GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK PS: BE SURE TO PUT LOTS OF PICTURES IN YOUR PROFILE!

I am so excited about my upcoming surgery. Glad to hear from those who are riding high on life. There has been a few negative posts today that kind of started bringing me down but you've helped put the postive back in my day. Thanks and congratulations! Peggy B.

Aww, don't let the negativity bring you down. Sometimes people just need to vent when they are uncomfortable, but ask them a year from now if they would do it again! I bet you they say YES! HUGS, Vi

Hi Laura, I had my surgery on the 13th of Oct. So I am Just a bit behind your wave but am riding my own. I too have a very supportive hubby and he was great during all this. I feel that makes all the difference in the world.
