Had my surgery on Thurs and came home yesterday (Sun) I never thought I'd say I miss those hospital bed rails! I'm worried I'm not getting in enough this first week. I've had jello, flavored water, tea and sygar free popsicles. I can't seem to do the broth. Any suggestions for the first week? I did order the packet of samples from bariatriceating but have been too tired to look at them. From what I remember, they're mostly for the 2nd week and out.

Welcome home hon! Check out www.protica.com for these 2.7 oz vials of protein drinks that have 25 grams of protein. I purchased the sampler pack and liked it enough to buy more! I think it will be a great way to get enough protein in as a new post op! HUGS, Vi http://www.protica.com/affiliate/aw.asp?B=13&A=142&Task=Click

Hey welcome home!! My nutritionist has me on a shake 3 times a day. They are tasty and inexpensive...plus.....you get 57 grams of protein when you drink them! Give them a try! Good luck with everything! Missy 1 SHAKE 1 packet Carnation Instant Breakfast(sugar free) 2 tablespoons non fat dry milk 8 ounce skim milk Mix together and enjoy! I like to mix them with my hand held blender so they dont get gritty. The chocolate ones taste like hot chocolate.

They are like 19 grams of protein each! If you warm them in the microwave they are like a rich creamy hot chocolate. I think they are very good....let me know what you think! Missy P.S. Vi, Did you get a new date?

I had my surgery on Wednesday I'm worried that I can eat too much!! I'm on blended foods and it seems nothing has bothered me and I don't really feel full. I hope that changes.

Believe me there is a difference between blended foods and mushy foods. I had an egg, cheese and cottage cheese for lunch and could only eat 1/4 cup. There is a big difference. It was amazing.

I also feel like I'm not getting enough down but I'm up going to the bathroom alot so I must be drinking alot. I'm just going to listen to my surgeon she says gets lots of fluid in, rest, and keep moving. Hope you feeling ok. I feel like a truck hit me and then backed back over me. Talk to you later Amanda

Congratulations on being on the losing side of life! I'm looking forward to next week when I'm on jiggly jello that squishes between my teeth, icy flavored water, suar free popsicles and chicken noodle soup (minus the noodles and chicken). Enjoy your new life! Peggy B.
