I got my pic line put in today
I got my pic line in today and boy did it hurt. It still hurt to move my arm. I hope it gets better real soon. I am 4 days out for my life changing surgery. There are a lot of tears on my side. I know that I am doing the right thing for me and my family. I what to live to see my kids grow and see my grandchildren someday. I just can't wait to get this done and over with. So I can start the healing process. K.B.
It's where they put the IV, but I wonder why she needs it this soon? Unless she needs constant medication of some sort? Back in 97 when I was pregnant and had a blood clot I needed a pic line to get blood thinners all day (I had this little machine that pumped it into me all day) because I had to be on this stuff for the next 6 months until the baby was born and to have to keep looking for veins would have been crazy so they gave me a "portable cathether" which was on my chest and went right to my jugular vein and sent me home. It's sort of a more semi permanent option to the regular IV's.
