My starting weight is 250-255 (I haven't weighed in a bit and my pre op visit is the 12th) Has anyone made any sample menuds, plans yet? Gotten any protein? If so, what kinds?

Congrats! My surgery was rescheduled but I'm hoping it will happen on or around the 17th as well. I have a protein mix that I've been using for about a year that I really like called "Carb Solutions" (chocolate) and it's about $9 a can. Other than that I stocked up on broth, jello and sugar free pudding. I also got an unflavored protein powder called "Designer Whey" that I can add to soups and cream of wheat for the puree stage. The other thing I purchased on line is a protein drink called "profecta" -- it's sold at www.protica.com and it's kind of pricey, but the 2.7 oz drink provides 25 grams of protein and I think that will be really helpful for the first couple of post op weeks when it's hardest to get in your protein. I tasted 2 of the flavors and they were fine -- not that I would run out of my way to have it under normal cir****tances, but I think it will be good for the it's purpose. Vi

Where did you find the unflavored designer whey? I couldn't find it anywhere around here.. I tried Wal-Mart, Albertsons and GNC (WAY TO HIGH) Also where do you get your chocolate protein? Which flavor of the protica protein do you like? I thought about getting some for right after surgery as well. I figure a dose that small would be fairly easy, better than 8 ozs...

http://store.bariatriceating.com/ HAS "ALL WHEY" WHICH IS UNFLAVORED PROTEIN POWDER. IT IS EASILY MIXED & DIGESTED. I THOUGHT I'D TRY THE PROTICA AS WELL FOR THE SAME REASON YOU STATED! GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK

Hi Chrystal, I am scheduled to have surgery on the 17th with Dr. Duncan in Atlanta Ga. as well, but I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m, I'm actually quite calm, I went tonight and got me a new robe and 2 gowns. I've been calm the whole time...not sure why. Hugs, Melissa
