The big day coming really soon
I'm going to start with Atkins shakes in the cans. They have 20 grams of protien and I won't have to worry about making it up. I also have some whey protien powder in the house from GNC that is pretty good. You just have to mix that with water. I even add that to my sugar free hot cocoa. That is another good way to get some extra protien in. As far as Caltrate goes. My dr. told me to take tums for the first few weeks for calcium.
HERE ARE SOME GOOD SITES TO FIND WLS SPECIALITY FOODS WITH HIGH PROTEIN THAT ARE EASY TO DIGEST ...
www.bariatriceating.com
www.scitecnutrition.com
www.vitamindeals.net
www.unjury.com
For the Sobe Leans- I like the Citrus flavor (but they come in a diet green tea and mango flavor), I have found them at:
Food Lion
Harris Teeter
Shell Gas Stations
Exxon Gas Stations
BP Gas Stations
FORGET THE TUMS & GET CALCIUM CITRATE ... THAT'S BEST FOR WLS PATIENTS ... BETTER DIGESTION & USAGE. BUT, NEVER TAKE CALCIUM OF ANY KIND WITH YOUR MULTI-VITAMINS/MINERALS ... TAKE THEM AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY.
GOD BLESS YOU DAWN & NICK
PS: DON'T FORGET TO GET SUBLINGUAL B-12 - VERY INEXPENSIVE AT WAL*MART. BIOTIN IS GOOD FOR YOUR HAIR AFTER SURGERY - ALSO VERY INEXPENSIVE AT WAL*MART.
My doc has recommended cal citrate(sams brand is cheapest 7.43 for 300) childrens COMPLETE chewable vitamins(sams brand is cheapest 9.47 for 400) and sublingual b12 (walmart 3.96 for 200) As far as protien, i have taste tested lots of them and found that smartforme vegi chili and juices are really tasty - taste like real food to me! They are more expensive, but for me it has to taste good if i am going to eat/drink it, so its worth it to me. Hope this helps you - good luck
