Roll Call...Good afternoon everyone
Hi all. Well exactly one week to go for me, and can I just say that I am definately freaking out now! I was doing fine until the recents posts of some people getting their surgery delayed for various reasons. I don't know why I never even considered that possibility. I feel so bad for all those folks who go through all this stress and then be told last minute it is not going to happen, I cannot even imagine the stress you all must have to go through. So before I was stressed in anticipation of the surgery, now I'm stressed that it won't happen. I'm being to think that my psych-exam didn't catch the fact that I truly am crazy!
Oh and to add even more, everyone is the office is sick, so I am power-housing vitamin C like they are going out of style. I think I felt a tickle in my throat and called my PCP and begged for an antibiotic presciption like some kind of crazy woman.
Yep...Happy Tuesday everyone.....
Hey Mary, relax!! Think of it this way, if only about 1 in 100 end up delayed this way, so I have paved the way for about 99 more to go as planned. You will be fine! I'm amazed at how easy LAP surgery is compared to the 2 hernia surgeries and the 2 c-sections that I had. I had my clothes on and was on my way home in 2 hours. Now I just feel like someone ran over my stomach a few times, but it's nothing like what I thought it would be, so next time I will be SUPER prepared to go all the way and trust me you will be fine!!
Hugs,
VI
Mary,
I am going in the same day as you.....I am not stressed or scared....yet.
I did see my nutritionist this morning and told her that I am tired, cranky and hungry from this pre-op liquid diet. She really didnt have much advice except that it will be over before I know it. I swear...all dietitians are skinny and happy....lol. Well, day 3 of 10 days is going better than days 1 and 2. Good Luck to everyone!
Missy
Hi Mary, I go the day after you!. It is now Wednesday so just one week from today I hope I get braver as the time gets closer!
I've also felt like I was coming down with a cold. My throat is a little sore. I don't know about you but for me it seems to take a long time from the time you feel like you are getting a cold until the cold actually comes..........it's like a week or so I'm taking a few days off from work before the surgery. I hope with some rest and vitimen C I can avoid a cold. By the way an antibiotic won't help a cold. Stick with the vitmin C and push the liquids. Hopefully that will take care of it for both of us.
Good luck
