ROLL CALL!
Hey Cheryl, that's a good idea about putting the protein in the sugar free pudding. I was talking to a friend about that last night. I figured if it has no taste, it should work right? I remember when I was doing the "ZONE" diet I would sprinkle the ZONE protein powder on just about everything, including my cereal, just to get some protein in there.
I might try that in broth too and in jello... hmmm...
Hi, my date is Oct 13th, and I'm also looking for ideas on protein. I want to have everything ready when I get home, and the thought of broth and jello doesn't do much for me. Where do you get the ISOPURE? I'm thinking like you-I'd rather just have a 20 oz bottle next to me. Please post any ideas you come up with!
Hi Debra!
I buy Isopure at the "Vitamin Shoppe" (www.vitaminshoppe.com), but if you don't have one near you, I believe GNC or any other vitamin/health food store carries it or you can order it on line. Let me know if you need some ideas where to order on line and I will get you a few URL's!
My Vitamin Shoppe has them on sale for the month of September and the guy is going to order me a case because they ran out of the flavor I like (Alpine Punch). I bought one bottle (for $3.25) just to try it and so far have tried the Alpine punch and the Apple Melon. He told me the grape frost sucked so I didn't try it. LOL. These guys have always been good about telling me the truth about the products, which is why I go there all the time!
Oh and the case is on sale for $29.99 which brings the price down to $2.49 a bottle. I just hope I still like it post op! I know people's tastes sometimes change!
I used to buy Carb Solutions at Walmart for about $9 a can, but they stopped carrying it, so now I order it on line from amazon.com (same price) because some of my supermarkets carry it for $11 or $13 a can and being the bargain hunter that I am, I had to have my lower price! LOL
And if you order at least $25 worth from amazon.com (only 3 cans) you get free shipping, plus there's no tax, so it was definitely worth it!
The free shipping still had it here in 3 days, by the way.
I haven't ordered from bariatriceating yet, but I know people who have and like their stuff.
I'm a bit leary of spending too much money until I know what I'm going to like POST OP.
I'm going to stock up on my broths and sugar free pudding and jello and buy some unflavored protein powder to put in them (I used to do it to cereal and it worked fine) so I can get in my protein.
Plus I ordered those little protein vials from protica.com -- they taste ok and have 25 grams of protein in one 2.7 oz vial which should be easy to get in. If I could have 2 of those a day post op, that would be great!
Good luck to you!
Vi
