more weight to loose in the final weeks...UGH!
Hello all. I saw my surgeon yesterday for my final visit before surgery. He told me I am borderline for having the surgery laproscopic or open. If I stay the way I am he will start off the surgery laproscopic but told me there is a 20% chance of going to open. Well I had already resigned myself to the fact that it would be open thinking there would be no way to do it lap. So I was kinda excited until he told me he wanted me to try to loose 20 - 25 lbs before my surgery date of Oct. 18th. UGH!!! The idea of yet another diet this late in the game is not appealing to me at all. Especially since our big vacation is the first week of October. The idea of having to diet during vacation really doesn't sit well. I talked to my nutritionist and she recommended I try slim fast for the weeks ahead and just try not to over indulge during our trip to the great outdoors. Well I will try but I sure don't think 20 lbs will come off that easily especially since my mind is not quite in it. Thanks for listening. Tina
Tina, I was worried about being canceled because I had gained 20 lbs since my first to the surgeon back in April, so I joined Weigh****chers the last week of August and followed the points program as religiously as I could and lost 9 lbs in the first week. Fortunately for US being this big, we tend to drop weight faster than most! I used to be 80 lbs heavier (about 6 years ago) and lost about 50 lbs in 2 months on my own just by watching my portion sizes, drinking lots of water and not eating after 8 PM.
I bet even if you lost 10 lbs he would be happy! Sometimes they shoot high to get your motivated.
Believe me, no one hates dieting (yet again) more than I do, but if this is what it's going to take, we can do it!!
Good luck!
