Today 9-21-05 is my real birtrhday 41yrs young :angst:
Today is my real birthday 9-21-1964. Then my 2nd one is on 10-18-2005, the day I have my surgery. Everyone has been asking me if I'm still having the surgery. I tell them yes. Is there any reason as to why i'm getting a bit nervous about the surgery, is it common to get nervous.
I'm a bit scared , but then I'm also happy about it. If anyone has had these types of feelings please let me know. It will put my mind at ease.
Happy Birthday Lisa!
Don't worry too much about those feelings, I think most people go through that around here. I know I certainly do. I am exactly three weeks from my surgery day and I feel like I am bouncing off the walls with excitement, yet at the same time still feeling a tad anxious at moments.
I try to work through those anxious moments by just preparing everything for when I return home from the hospital.
Good luck!
Mary
Yes, we all fear the unknown...I work hard to keep a positive attitude and think about all the good things that is going to happen to all of us in the next few months....I think how nice it will be to fly and not need an extra extension belt when I go see my son at christmas....hey we will be feeling great and looking pretty good to ourselves.
Stay positive and push all those negs out of the way.
Say a little prayer for me Oct 3rd that is my date...smiles to you
Lisa,
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!
I too am having my surgery in October, exactly 11 days after my real birthday I'll be 39 .....
And just like you I am feeling a little nervous about the impending surgery, but my want and need to have this done is overpowering the nervousness right now anyway, it is perfectly normal to feel the way that you do, I was just telling someone yesterday that we as humans have an upper hand in most things in this world and one of the things we must have is "prior knowledge" with that you have won half the battle, the unknown is what frightens us, we can sit at our desks and read profile among profile of everyone eles's experiences but because this isnt Monopoly, where everyone does the same thing and gets the same results, we will never know what its like until we go through it ourselves, I akin it to childbirth, lots of people have done it but no one does it exactly the same as the other, for everyone its a different experience......
So with that said I say to you trust in God, through him all things are possible! He will see you through this put your trust in him.....
But enough with that, girl go out and celebrate your "real" birhday, because soon you'll be celebrating your "re" birthday, and I'll be celebrating with you.....
See ya on the other side!!!!!!
Happy Birthday! What you are feeling is totally normal! Yesterday I was floating on air and today I was scared to death. Gradually I'm going back to being excited though!
This is a major commitment and a huge change of life for us so if we weren't nervous, THEN we'd have to wonder if something was wrong! LOL
