Surg date changed; I'm feeling a bit better about doing RNY.
At my request, my date for RNY has been moved from 10/10 to 10/25. I have a large event I'm responsible for taking place on 10/12, and just couldn't leave that in someone else's hands with a clean conscience. (My client is bringing 35 of her colleagues to my site for an all-day set of tours and informational meetings). Since I have to be seen the Wednesday before surgery, 10/25 was the next day that could be worked out.
I posted here a week or so ago, feeling a lot of hesitation, questioning whether I should move ahead. Thoughtful responses from a handful of you really helped me to reflect on some of the factors driving my hesitation. While I'm still not gleeful about doing this, I do feel more settled about the decision. I recognize now, that I have repeating my prior pattern of overanalyzing my decision. I just need to trust myself and my decision, and do this thing, for my health and longevity.
The surgeon requires I stay close to the hospital for a week after surgery, so I'm excited that my first day home will be Halloween. I can see my 3 year old twins in their costumes, even if I may not feel up to trick-or-treating with them.
Best wishes to you Jane, and thanks for your support.
