One year
I'm a lurker so this will be my first post on the October board but I've read every single post on this board. Today is my one year surgiversary and I can't believe how my life has changed. I currently weigh 123 pounds (-112 pounds since surgery) and wear a size 2. I'm still waiting for my brain to catch up with my body/working through those body dysmorphia issues but I'm very happy with where I'm at. I just want to thank everyone who has posted over the last year since reading the October posts were always soooo motivating to me. Some of the other boards can be a bit scary but the October board has the nicest most encouraging people I've come across. So thanks to all of you for helping me make this past year such a success and congratulations to all of you on your incredible successes.
And good luck to all of us on our continued success over the coming year.
Beth

That is so great Beth. I am so happy for you. This past year has really been a wild ride. I have never been happier in my life. I have lost right at 175lbs give or take a few depends on the time of day of weigh. I never knew life could be so great. I am really living now. Good luck to you in everything you do.
Hugs

Congratulations Beth!!! Isn't it amazing how quickly the year went! I know how you feel about the surgery changing your life, it's changed mine in ways I never expected! You've done well - and I'm sure your brain will catch up soon, I know that's rough sometimes too. Don't be a lurker, join in once in a while! Take care, Jeanne in Miami

Happy Surgiversary a little late. Congrats on your amazing accomplishment. I'm down 152lbs so far. I know I'll never be a size 2 but any size is better than I was last year.
I think my brain is not working at the moment as i've been at a standstill for a few weeks trying to lose a bit more. I guess it will just happen in time.
I too found out that we Ocotberites are the nicest ones here. It's the only board I go on. So you could say that I am a bit partial to us here. We are the best.
Continued success and best of luck to you too.

Wow Lisa! I just saw the pictures you posted on your profile. You look great and so thin. You are doing incredible. Only 33 more pounds - that's amazing. I think sometimes our bodies need time to catch up with our weight loss and that causes those little standstills. I think sometimes our brains need that time to catch up also.
Good luck on those last 33 pounds - they'll come off slowly but surely and you'll be so busy living your new improved life that they'll be off before you know it.
Take care,
Beth

Beth, I'm glad you came out of lurker mode to post. Congratulations on your tremendous accomplishment over the past year! I can't believe you have lost almost half of your body weight, but I guess when I count the numbers, I'm close myself. It is hard to belive how powerful WLS can be, isn't it?
I wish you all the best.

Sheryl,
You are very close to losing half your body weight from your high weight. That's amazing. I just revisited your profile and I forgot what your old picture looked like. What an amazing transformation. I think all the October board members need to get busy updating their pictures - everyone has changed so much. LOL!
