Hi guys! I haven't been on here for a bit..busy busy busy. I have an embarassing question for you all; I've also posted on the main board. I keep running into constipation issues each month for about the last three months. It's killing me lol...and it hurts. Do any of you have any "natural" remedies that you use? I'm tired of using the colace and I don't want my body to get used to using that. If any of you have any suggestions, I'd really really appreciate it! Thanks! Bridgett

My Doc gives me Glycolax powder that you just put in water, coffee or tea. And it keep me regular, plus milk of mag before bed always works......and its hard for natural remedy, but the glycolax is no a laxative it adds water to your stool and keeps you norm, so thats what i have been using.............you look great by the way!!!!! vickie r.

I take one Fiber Choice Sugar Free Orange Chewable Tablet once a day and I'm pretty regular. Tastes good, too. You can buy them at Wal-mart and they are pretty resonably priced. Peggy B.

I use pro-biotics every day and they help alot. I buy the Natrol beadlets from Vitacost.com and they run about $5.00-$6.0o for a 30 day supply. Hope this helps some. Lisa J. in Mass

Thanks for your advice too Lisa! I'll keep the pro-biotics in mind. I'm assuming that over the counter??

Hey Bridgett! It's been a long time since I've seen you....hope you are doing well. I don't think this is an embarassing question--we all have had trouble! I use a tablespoon of Benefiber in my morning shake (it's flavorless and no grit/buy it at Target) and take a stool softener (with NO laxative/again I buy the Target brand/there is a natural herbal softener out there too) at night. I talked to my surgeon about this since I was having MAJOR problems and even got a fissure (anal/rectal tear) from straining. He told me that a softener is fine as long as it does not contain a laxative for my body to become dependant on. Things are sooooo much better now and my weight went down once I figured out how to stay regular. I'd suggest you run it by your doc's office if you keep having problems just to check thinigs out and be sure your remedies are ok. Good Luck and email me sometime! We spoke many months ago if you can remember.... -Laura

You can by pro-biotics over the counter. Best place to buy them is at a GNC. You want beadlets or pearls. They are small and easier to swallow. Lisa J. in Mass
