Somedays i dont want to eat,but other days i want to snack,i have a little demon in the back of my head that says eat,eat and then i get on scale and gain 2lbs then i dont eat for 2 days. Im so scared i will gain, but i tell myself i have to make the best of my new tool. But i no we do go into starvation mode and you could be in that mode. Lisa I know what you mean also. I feel like I can eat more and the scales quit moving over 7 weeks ago. I was down to 163 then went to 165 back to 170. I was freaking out but then I've started dropping and I am now down to 160. I pushed the limit and got sick on sugar so that was a very humbling experience. We all have the ability to slip back but hopefully we can remember what we have learned and stay on track.

Hey, Lisa! I think you're in a phase that all of us go through. I have lost almost all of my weight and I've let myself "relax" in what I eat. I haven't been keeping track of my protein and have been snacking on treats a little more. I haven't gained but like you, I have the fear that like all diets that I've been on in the past, I will gain the weight back again.
While at my surgeon's office today, the nurse made a comment that has got my attention. She stated that lately a lot of their patients have been coming in that are two and three years out down the road that have gained back a large portion of their weight. This must mean that they have let themselves go back to their old eating habits. THAT GOT MY ATTENTION IN A BIG WAY!!! I didn't have this surgery to turn around and waste my money and the insurances money to go right back the way I was. It's time to nip myself in the bud. No one can do it for me. I have to want it myself. Soooo.....
I have committed myself to start over, eating my protien and drinking all of my water every day. I'm also going to add water aerobics to my exercise routine which has gone downhill since my hernia surgery three weeks ago. I also want to start walking on the days I don't do water aerobics.
Wanna join me? Come on!!!

I can relate. Scares me to death when I feel my appetite coming back. Try eating something high protein and dense, like chicken or low fat cheese. And drink LOTS of water, that seems to help too.
I saw a co-worker today, 5 years out and she had started to gain back! 5 years! I was totally stunned, but know she was also going through some personal problems....so I'm thinking that contributed towards it. I think whenever I see a person that has gone through WLS, and has gained back, I think to myself "that could be me".
I'm HOPING that I will keep it off, and continue to lose...but I think you just have to be ever careful...always.
Best of luck....
