Hi guys~ I had a co-worker ask me if I'm blowing it because he thinks that I look like I've gained ALOT of weight~ I've been maintaining for the last 4 months. That just really really bothered me by his comments. Anyone else had that happen?? Just needed to vent (doing that alot lately)

Excuse my "FRENCH" but I hate that sh#t! I can't stand when people make comments like that. My mother and I were at the mall 2 weeks ago and she saw an ex co-worker. The lady hugged her and they talked and out of no wher she says "Are you gaining weight". My mom smiled and said "Yeah, I gained about 10 lbs." I was p*ssed! When we walked away my mom said" I am just going to stop eating". People don't realize what an emotional rollercoaster we ride on, and it just erks me! I believe people are just waiting for us to fail because they think we took the "EASY WAY OUT". I do believe it has a lot to do with jelousy as well. Even if the person that is saying it is thin. Your not the "OBESE" co-worker anymore, and that ticks them off for some reason! Erin

Oh for heaven's sake, what a goon to say something like that. Ignore the bozo. And you go ahead and vent, you are entitled. When that ding dong loses as much weight as you have, then he has a right to comment. Until then, he should limit himself to supportive statements such as, "My goodness, don't you look lovely today. Is that a new outfit?" Nobody has a right to comment on your weight. How rude. Sheryl

It was very hard on me at first because I never lied about my surgery and told eveyone at work so all the attention and comments I got kind of surprised me. Most people never asked how I was doing just how much weight have you lost now. Also they would always make comments on how little I could eat or just seem to be watching how much I eat. I always wonder if they are just waiting forme to fail. So I can see how a comment like that would bother you. But we have to remember the only one we are responsible for is ourselves and we can only be hurt or bothered by others comments if we let them bother us it is no different than when we were fat and people would make comments. So ignore you co worker and next time someone makes a comment like that smile and say thanks for caring. That will really throw them off guard.

I have not had this happen to me yet, but I'm sorry it happened to you. Some people need to have their social filters adjusted so they can stop themselves from saying stupid, inappropriate things. Please don't let his comments keep you down. You've worked too hard and accomplished too much to be brought down by someone's insensitivity. Keep your chin up and be proud of what you've done; we're proud of you! Kellie
