It makes me sad, as a lurker for there not to be any posts for today. I am not doing well. I am having an uncontrollable "need" for sweets that I am not successfully controling. I don't understand it, until 2 weeks ago I had no problem at all. I was thinking of making either protein balls or cookies with extra protein so I can at least benefit from my cravings. I hope that you all are have a great and wonderful Saturday. Ann

You're not alone. This past week has been a bad one for me with alternating between sweet and salty/crunchy cravings. I swear I would kill for a 1/2 cup of Raisin Bran Crunch...and I don't even like raisin bran that much!! I have found popcorn to be a decent substitute for the salties and sf fudgesicles for the sweets....but that doesn't stop the craving from being there. I think it's a head thing and hopefully we'll both move through it soon. Best of luck! Rachael

Hi Ann~ I can totally relate with the "need" for sweets! I wish I would have never ever re-introduced them back into my diet!! I brought this up to my doctor on Wednesday and he said it's okay to have a bite of something so you don't feel like you're denying yourself. He said if I deny myself that, that I will only want it more and then in turn eat more of it. Yesterday, I made a big batch of the protein balls and put them in the freezer..I find those help take the edge off if I want something sweet. I also buy the little snack packs of trail mix that helps with the sugar and salt cravings. Also, something that has worked for me in the past and still does is peppermint (s/f mints, tea, gum)..something about it just doesn't make me want to eat the sweet stuff! Don't know if any of this will help you or not?? Take Care!

Shana~ I make mine out of 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of oats (not instant) and 1 cup of chocolate flavored protein powder and a few packets of splenda I melt the peanut butter in the microwave and then stir in the other stuff..if it's too dry I add a little bit of water so it's sticks together I put mine in the freezer and they are yummy!!

I know what you're going through! It will pass (eventually). Or just try not to overindulge on the craving. I've been battling the same thing as well. We can get through this. Take care and good luck!
