Surgery 10/5 Starting weight: 250 Today's weight: 164 LOST: 86 I can eat everything, unfortunately. For the past several weeks, I have not been eating enough protein, getting fluids or vitamins, but I am happy to say I am back on track and SURPRISE, lost 3 pounds over the weekend. (I was lucky to lose 3 pounds in the past couple of MONTHS!) I am back to eating fish or other protein...I was so sick of meat, I was only eating fruits and veggies and snackign on too many carbs. And I have added 1 protein drink back into my daily menu - usually for breakfast. Oh, and I am taking ALL of my vitamins again. I don't know WHY I go off track - I feel ssssooooo much better when I am doing what I am supposed to be doing! Well - I am off to do my new pilates DVD....

Surgery: Oct 21 Starting weight: 285 Today's weight: 170 LOST: 115 I fit a size 12 jeans, though I really have a hard time believing it! For food, I drink a lot of shakes, water, the occasional Diet Pepsi, tuna, chicken, broccoli, carrots, potato, cheese, cheese and more cheese, Fiber One(God, I need it, lol) strawberries, cucumber, and I eat a little piece of chocolate a few times a week. (bad me, I know) I make soup often, usually a bit of chicken breast, carrot, celery, chick broth, and add some potato and milk for a cream soup or just leave it for regular. Ive had deli meat (fat free turkey) rolled up with a piece of cheddar in the middle, but only could eat 1/2.... hrm,, think thats about it. Oh, yea, Crackers that I put my tuna and chicken salads on, and soy mini rice cake thingies. With tuna and chicken i add mayo, diced pickle, shredded cheddar, mustard, salt, pepper and sometimes a little ranch or cucumber dressing in the chicken. Its super soft and yummy! Debb I can eat egg sometime, but dont enjoy it enough to risk it, lol.

I am still frustrated with my eating. Somedays I can eat one food and the next day I throw it up. Yesterday was a bad day. All I ate was 1/4 an orange and 2 tablespoons mashed boiled egg then got sick. It seemed to be the orange that was upsetting. I ate the same amount of orange 2 days before and it didn't bother me. Normal for me is 1/2 bowl of oatmeal for breakfast with 1/4 cup milk, 4 ounces of juice. Lunch 1/2 sandwich, light bologna and cheese or almost a cup of soup, Dinner 3 teaspoons of potato, two bites of chicken or 1/2 c chili. It seems so little. My doctor thinks I'm doing okay. I'm not sure

I dont think you are eating too much, but its something to ask your surgeon. For me, I didnt even eat for the first 3.5 months from a minor complication so, the amount I eat now seems like a lot to me. I guess it depends on how you progressed.

I usually have a protein shake for breakfast, salad and a toast for lunch, protein shake in the afternoon, a protein rich meal for dinner (meat or fish) and half a protein shake before bedtime. I have been counting calories and it seems to me that I am averaging about 1000-1400 calories per day. I walk about 5 miles each day and swim alot and when I exercise more I eat a bit more. I am also taking all my vitamins and I feel more energetic and alive then ever I don't eat sweets but I am sure that they would make me dump (don't want to find out). Sweet soy products make me dump so I avoid them completely. Otherwise I seem to be able to stand all sorts of food. I had some trouble with chicken the first few months post-op but that is over now. All of you keep up the good work Kolla 304/193/140 (111 done and only 53 to go )
