I am amazed at how well everyone is doing. Even those of yall who think you are slow losers-- your not. It will catch up. I was a fast loser I think and now I am slowing down big time. My menstrual cycle is extremely messed up.
I have been on a period for a month with a small break for about 4 days. Been back and forth to the gyno in the last several mos and went again today. We are working on a solution to this. He says hormones are stored in fat cells and the rate I am losing they are just going wild!! Problem is I get so bloated and retain water so bad when I am bleeding.
Hope I get straight soon so I can start losing again.
Here are my stats:
Surgery Oct 7
Morning of Surgery 266
Current Weight 166
Total lost since surgery = 100
Started out in 24s and 22s
Now in 12s and some 10s
Everyone is doing great though.. We are all about the same!

The thing about the sodas esp the caffenated ones are that they are a food stimulant. They make you want to eat.
Drinking a good bit of soda is probably alot like water loading. I do this sometimes to curb the urge to eat.

Well, I guess it's my turn. I had surgery 10/7/04.
Starting weight: 291
Today's weight: 186.6
Lost: 104.4 only 31.6 lbs til goal!!
I'm down a total of 92 inches and am in a size 7/8 jeans and large or x-large tops depending on the cut.
As for eating, I can eat pretty much anything, though in smaller amounts. Haven't really tried sweets, I seem to crave salty things instead, which I guess is better than sweets. I have been eating too many carbs this past week, so need to get away from that.
You're doing great everyone!!

Topic: RE: What did you eat yesterday?
I worked yesterday 7 a.m - 7 p.m I am a nurse in cardiovascular intensive care unit and we had a mothers day potluck, which was my idea. In retrospect this was a BAD idea. I started off well with a half a deviled egg for breakfast then for a snack I had chicken and a small slice of diet key lime pie I brought. The pie must have kicked in my carb cravings because i grazed the rest of the day, only bites here and ther but all those bites add up. I had wheat thins with spinich dip(10 total give or take,2 tbsp dip give or take)Lunch was Quiche, another snack was bisquick, sausage cheese balls(5 total throughout the day) Dinner was another piece of quiche and a later snack was more key lime pie(SF lime jello, lite key lime yogurt and FF cool whip in a LF graham cracker crust) I am on track today with a protein drink for breakfast a protein bar for snack will have a multigrain wasa with 1 laughing cow triangle low fat swiss cheese for lunch. Will drop off my daughter at preschool and am going to the gym for a mega workout. Dinner will be chicken and a later snack will be strawberries. I already have taken my vitamins and am doing well on water. This is a long post but I felt so guilty about yesterday I had to confess to someone, thanks for listening!

I had a terrible day yesterday. The weekends are always so hard for me. I began the day with a protein shake. Then I had a protein bar. Still wanting to have something I ate a teaspoon of low fat peanut butter (which often turns off my head hunger). That didn't work so I ate a bowl of soy yogurt since soy usually makes me sick (I was intentionally trying to get myself sick in order to stop eating )
When I had gotten over the stomach ache from the soy yogurt, I ate two diet popsicles, some pasta and ended the day with a protein shake. All in all it was about 1200-1300 calories I think - way more than anybody else 6-7 months out seems to be eating. I don't know what to do other than start to weigh my meals and set up rules. I haven't seen my calorie intake as a problem thus far since I have been losing weight steadily. However, I am obviously eating too much for a person 6-7 months out. So the honeymoon period is definitely over for me and now its time to diet

Topic: What did you eat yesterday?
Thought I would try to get this thread started again as I always like to see how I compare to others. Here is what I ate yesterday:
No breakfast...terrible, I know.
L - 1 small lobster, yes, dipped in butter
2 steamed clams
1 onion ring
S - DQ Fudge Bar (sugar free, fat free)
protein bar
D - 1 oz pot roast, 1/4 c roasted potato, 1 sliced carrot
S - 3/4 c banana chips
totals: 779 cals, 26 fat, 83 CARBS (HOLY CRAP - the banana chips were 44!!!! but they were sooo good) and only 62 protein. Not a good day for carbs or protein. I would have had a protien drink, but I am out. Sheesh - I will be staying away from those banana chips from now on. I did 20 minutes on my Nordic Track, and walked along the beach (running with my toddler) for about an hour. My goal today is to lower my carbs and increase my protein. It never ceases to amaze me how high the calories can get, even though I *feel* like I did well and didn't eat much....

Yep - I drink a diet, caffeine free (sometimes I do the caffeine) soda every day. I do better with fountain drinks, I think they are less bubbly than canned, but I can tolerate either just fine. If I am hungry, but its not time for a meal, soda gives me a "full" feeling.
