Topic: RE: What did you eat yesterday? C'mon people.....
I noticed that in myself recently. I tried to cut back on the calories so that I was under 1000 and I stopped loosing weight. Now I'm back around 1200 and I've lost 4lbs above the water fluctuation.
Thanks for the encouragement! I was getting quite depressed about the whole thing!
Topic: RE: Taking surgery for granted
It is so hard not to fall back into habits that got me obese in the first place. I've noticed that any disruption in my schedule seems to serve as an excuse for me not to exercise as much or to not get in as much water or to snack. UGH! Changing the body was easy, changing my mind is HECK!

Kristen,
I am guilty too of the same thing. I've stalled, the first time for 4 weeks and this time more like 8 weeks. Pecan Shortbread cookies , even though sugarfree are also my downfall. I just decided to cut them off cold turkey. I had to stop myself yesterday from going to Taco Bell and ordering a mexican pizza. I can never eat the whole thing but just liked the taste. Maybe that is why i've only lost 96 lbs. I even went and bought a treadmill, 2 ellipticals and a home gym before my husband left to Iraq in February. So I would have no excuse not to exercise, RIGHT!!! I've been very bad. I pray every night and thank God for starting me on this wonderous journery, since the day of my surgery. But I really heard myself the other night and wondered how ironic i sounded. Yes i'm blessed to have had the surgery and it be a success, but I wasn't really helping on my part.
After realizing that i'm hurting myself more than anything i've decided to get my butt into shape. I've started walking, a fast, mile everyday now on the treadmill. I bought a pilates tape last night, so i'll be starting those today. Hang in there darlin. Remember we can turn things around and achieve everything that we have in mind. Also, when I pray I ask God to give me the strength and will power to overcome the obsticals and hurdles in my way. Here is my email if you would like to keep in touch. [email protected] We can make it. Don't give up and give yourself more credit because you do deserve it.

Way to go Tina. How did you mangage that? Now that is great that you've lost 125lbs. I can't seem to break into the century club, i've lost 96 lbs since Oct. 26, 2004. Have staled a couple of times plus hair has started falling out . But I know in due time all will be ok. Congrats.

Welcome Tina! We only have a few "regulars" here, and the board moves a bit slow at times...but its a great resource and place to come for tips, motivation or just to rant about something. It sure is nice to include a newcomer!
WAY TO GO on losing 125!! Excellent!

I noticed you were looking for a few more posters to this thread . . . so here goes:
B: South Beach Cinnamon Creme Bar (220 Cal, 19 Prot)
L: 2 oz Baked Chicken/no skin (84 Cal, 16 Prot), 1/2c Baked Potato (57 Cal, 1 Prot)
S: 1/4c Life Cereal (41 Cal, 1 Prot)
D: 5 oz Shoe String French Fries (250 Cal, 3 Prot), Chili (86 Cal, 4 Prot), and Cheese (83 Cal, 5 Prot)
Total: 820 Calories, 33 Fat, 87 Carbs, 50 Proteins . . All my water
Not the best choice for dinner, but I always try to eat healthy so I splurged. Didn't make my 1000 calories for the day. But that's good, I like to shock the system once in a while.

I eat 1000-1200 and sometimes a little bit more. I was right around 800 til about the 6.5/7 month mark and I was hungry all the time. I think it's because I work out five times a week and my metabolism has picked up and I just need more food. I've noticed that if I drop below 1000 I stop losing weight. I didn't lose for two weeks, increased my calories and dropped 14 pounds in 8 days. So, in my experience, your nutritionist is right. Eating too few calories will make the weightloss slow down. Eating too many will also. There's a balance there and we just have to find what's right for our bodies. It seems so hard. I hope it gets easier and easier with time. I don't want to be this obessed about food and calories for the rest of my life.
Best wishes,
Tina
Topic: Hey All
Hi Fellow October'ers!
Just found this board today and wanted to say hi. I'm from Alabama and had my surgery in Mobile. I'm down 125 pounds from 374 since October 14.
Any way, just wanted to check in and read what's going on with other people who are the same amount of time post op as I. It will be interesting to see if I'm normal. haha
Thanks,
Tina
